For the next few postings I’m going to write about Jonathan Cahn’s new book “The Mystery of the Shemitah” which has recently been published. He is a true prophet in our day, a humble servant of Yeshua.

Back in 2009 a friend of mine gave me eight DVD’s to watch. They were Mr. Cahn’s talks on the subject which would later become his first best selling book, “The Harbinger.” In these DVD’s Mr. Cahn spoke about the tragedy of the 9/11 attack on America, the 2008 financial collapse, and the meaning of these events from an Old Testament Hebraic understanding.

A few months earlier, I had asked the Lord in prayer, to be able to understand current day events and past history from His view point, not what I've been told history books say. I was stunned with the information and understanding that Mr. Cahn had while watching these DVD’s. He was understanding what had happened from a Biblical view point that made total sense to me.

He saw the warning of God to America and was sharing with the nation the message to repent and return to God. He was able to interpret the 9/11 events and the 2008 financial collapse as God’s warning to America. He also connected many past events leading up to those events in a way that seemed undisputable to me.

For one example, the World Trade Center towers were completed in 1973 the same year abortion became legal in the United States. Abortion is our modern way of sacrificing our children to idols--the idol of self. It is really no different than the ancient nation of Israel sacrificing their children to false gods.

When the towers collapsed more than 3,600 precious lives were lost. Mr. Cahn found that was about the same number of unborn children being aborted every day in America. Since 1973 more than 50 million unborn children have been sacrificed in America.

Mr. Cahn did not casually down play the loss of lives in the World Trade Center but connected it to God warning to America to stop the killing of innocent unborn children. There is a strong message to the nation in this tragic event. God passionately loves America and all His creation--but when we turn from Him he takes away His hedge of protection. The events of 9/11 were about God taking away our hedge of protection because we have turned away from Him.

Isn’t it interesting that America is consumed with blood and death. Halloween has become a highly celebrated time of horror in America. One house of horror has 24,000 people waiting to experience horror and death.

American’s think this is a joke. When a tragedy like 9/11 happens people can’t believe God would allow something like that to happen. It is not a joke. We reap what we sow. Horror and death are not to be taken lightly. We have eliminated God from our schools and society and have turned to horror in movies, video games, and houses of horror. Perhaps God has given us over to our own desires as a way of warning us to return to His ways?

Mr. Cahn’s DVD's exhorted me to seek the Lord in a much deeper way. I began to see the God who demands righteousness and who hates sin. I began to see the God who chastises men and nations in an attempt to get them to repent and walk in His righteous ways. As difficult as it is to perceive, God is warning America because of His great love for America.

Those who first came to America came for religious freedom. Those freedoms are slowly being taken away from us. We now call good evil and evil good (Isaiah 5.20) in America. Mr. Cahn’s message in “The Harbinger” was that God is warning the nation to return to Him and repent from our misguided ways.

The follow up book to “The Harbinger” is the “Mystery of the Shemitah” which builds upon what has already happened and what may come next. In the next few postings I am going to review some of the things in the new book which are of immediate interest. Please read these important books to better understand.

God is shaking everything that can be shaken in order to get our attention. He is sending us loving warnings to return to Him before it is too late.
