THE WORLD FINANCIAL SYSTEM - MYSTERY BABYLON

The World Financial System is built upon a debt-based monetary system that uses a modern day form of dishonest scales known as Fractional Reserve Banking (FRB).

FRB is an unrighteous process that creates currency in the form of consumer and investment debt, and then loans that debt into existence as money.

The FRB process creates a debt based monetary system whereby all money is debt, which is why the U.S. Dollar is officially called a “Federal Reserve Note”.

Likewise, all international currencies are referred to as notes (debt), which means the WFS uses debt as “legal tender in the payment of all debts public and private”.

This type of unrighteous creation and misuse of debt transgresses God’s financial laws and creates a debt bubble that always collapses.

Today’s worldwide debt bubble is in the process of collapsing, and the dynamics behind the biblical truth that “the borrower is slave to the lender” (Pr. 22:7) is manifesting on a global scale. Consequently, individuals, businesses and governments are all becoming slaves to the WFS of Commercial Babylon.

God is calling His New Covenant people to “come out” of Babylon, Egypt and the world by returning to the biblical principles of finance and investments that are found in God’s Torah (Instruction/Laws).

We are on the threshhold of great monetary changes in this world. The United States dollar will no longer be the World Reserve Currency. When the new currency is instituted we will no longer be able to finance our debt the way we do now. This will cause the standard of living in America to fall in a dramatic way.

I urge all who read this to seek the Lord and prepare themselves for a much lower standard of living then which they are now accustomed. If America does not soon return to God this is what to expect:

Be prepared for a new world currency backed by gold.

Devaluation of the US Dollar by 30 to 50%.

Much higher inflation than we are now experiencing.

Much higher prices for food and fuel.

Possible wage and price controls.

Russia, China, and Germany to become the new superpower nations.

Restrictions on our ability to easily travel to other states.

PREPARE! PREPARE! PREPARE! Now is the time to wait on the Lord for personal direction and comfort. He has a plan for His people in this time. Find out what He plans for YOU!

MYSTERY BUILDINGS OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER
From the website: www.vigilantcitizen.com with great pictures, Click on: Sinister Sites

As Christians who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ we need not fear anything from the occult world, but it is to our advantage to understand how the enemy, Satan, works in this world. He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 With this thought in mind I present to you some of the enemy’s ancient mystery Babylonian structures built by the “spirit of the world” representing the ideals of the New World Order.

Astana, Khazakhstan
Astana is the first capital being built in the 21st century and it perfectly represents where the world is headed. It is truly one man’s vision: Nursultan Nazarbayev, the president of Kazakhstan. Backed by billions of petrodollars, the city is being built from scratch in a remote and deserted area of the Asian steppes. The result is astonishing: a futuristic occult capital, embracing the New World Order while celebrating the most ancient religion known to man: Sun Worship. The city is still a huge construction site, but the buildings that are already completed already sum up Nazarbayev’s occult vision.

Illuminati Pyramid in Blagnac, France
Located in a suburb of Toulouse, the “Place de la Révolution” is probably one of the most blatant displays of Illuminati designs in existence: a huge pyramid hovering atop a map of the world. The symbolic meaning of this structure reveals a rather grim and elitist ideology and seems to confirm the conspiracy theorist’s claims: the world is lead by a secret cabal named the Illuminati.

The Georgia Guidestones
The Georgia Guidestones is a mysterious monument on which are carved ten “commandments” for a “New Age of Reason”. The first commandment? Maintaining the world population under 500 million people. Another sinister fact: the authors of what we now call the American Stonehenge are still a “mystery”… except for those in the know. We will look at the numerous features of this monument, its message calling for a New World Order and explain how it is the work of an occult secret society.

The Denver International Airport
An apocalyptic horse with glowing red eyes welcoming visitors? Nightmarish murals? Strange words and symbols embedded in the floor? Runways shaped like a Nazi swastika? OK, this place is evil.

But seriously, there are so many irregularities surrounding the DIA, that a voluminous book could be written on the subject. The facilities and the art displayed lead many observers to believe that the DIA is much more than an airport: it is literally a New-Age cathedral, full of occult symbolism and references to secret societies. The art at the DIA is NOT an aggregation of odd choices made by people with poor taste, like many people think. It is a cohesive collection of symbolic pieces that reflect the philosophy, the beliefs and the goals of the global elite. The DIA is the largest airport in America and it has cost over 4.8 billion dollars. Everything regarding this airport has been meticulously planned and everything is there for a reason.

Jesus said, “Be not afraid for I have overcome the world.” Praise the Lord, we serve the true King!

THE TRIBE OF JUDAH - PART TWO

A SHORT HISTORY OF JUDAH

Judah’s birth:
And she (Leah) conceived again and gave birth a son; and she said, Now I will praise the LORD; therefore she called his name Judah and stopped bearing children. Genesis 29.35

Judah the businessman: Then Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother and conceal his blood? Genesis 37.26

Judah sees that they can profit from their terrible deed if they sell Joseph instead of killing him.

Judah the advocate: Come and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content. Genesis 37.27 (ref: Genesis 43.1-15 and Genesis 44.14-34)

Judah the organizer: And he (Jacob) sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen. Gen 46.28

Jacob recognizes that Judah has matured and gives him the responsibility of getting the family to Goshen.

Judah’s sin - Genesis 38.1-30:And it came to pass at that time that Judah went down from his brethren and turned in to a certain Adullamite, whose name was Hirah.

2 And Judah saw there a daughter of a certain Canaanite, whose name was Shuah, and he took her and went in unto her.

3 And she conceived and gave birth to a son, and he called his name Er.

4 And she conceived again and gave birth to a son, and she called his name Onan.

5 And she yet again conceived and gave birth to a son and called his name Shelah. And he was at Chezib, when she gave birth to him.

6 And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, whose name was Tamar.

7 And Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD and the LORD slew him.

8 Then Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother’s wife and marry her and raise up seed to thy brother.

9 And Onan knew that the seed would not be his, and it came to pass when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he corrupted it on the ground, to not give seed to his brother.

10 And the thing which he did displeased the LORD, and he slew him also.

11 Then Judah said to Tamar, his daughter-in-law, Remain a widow at thy father’s house until Shelah, my son, is grown; for he said, Lest peradventure he die also, as his brethren did. And Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house.

12 ¶ And many days passed and Judah’s wife, the daughter of Shuah, died; and Judah was comforted and went up

unto his sheepshearers to Timnath, he and his friend Hirah, the Adullamite.

13 And it was told Tamar, saying, Behold, thy father-in-law goes up to Timnath to shear his sheep.

14 And she took off her widow’s garments and covered herself with a veil and wrapped herself and sat by the gate to the waters by the way to Timnath, for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife.

15 When Judah saw her, he thought her to be a harlot because she had covered her face.

16 And he turned unto her by the way and said, Come now, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee (for he knew not that she was his daughter-in-law). And she said, What wilt thou give me that thou may come in unto me?

17 And he said, I will send thee from the sheep a kid from the goats. And she said, Wilt thou give me a pledge until thou send it?

18 Then he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet and thy mantel and thy staff that is in thine hand. And he gave them to her, and came in unto her, and she conceived by him.

19 And she arose and went away and took off her veil and put on the garments of her widowhood.

20 And Judah sent the kid by the hand of his friend, the Adullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman’s hand; but he did not find her.

21 Then he asked the men of that place, saying, Where is the cult prostitute of the waters by the way side? And they said, There was no cult prostitute in this place.

22 And he returned to Judah and said, I cannot find her; and also the men of the place said that there was no cult prostitute in this place.

23 And Judah said, Let her take the things for herself lest we be shamed; behold, I sent this kid, and thou hast not found her.

24 ¶ And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar, thy daughter-in-law, has played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth and let her be burnt.

25 When she was brought forth, she sent to her father-in-law, saying, By the man whose these are, am I with child; and she said, Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet and mantel and staff.

26 Then Judah acknowledged them, and said, She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah, my son. And he knew her again no more.

27 And it came to pass in the time of her travail that, behold, twins were in her womb.

28 And it came to pass when she travailed, that the one put out his hand, and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first.

29 And it came to pass as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out; and she said, Why hast thou brought this breach upon thee? Therefore his name was called Pharez.

30 And afterward his brother that had the scarlet thread upon his hand came out, and his name was called Zarah.

Judah’s first three sons:Read above for details.

1. Er which means = “watchful, awake.”
2. Onan which means = “powerful, sinful, wicked, malicious, spiteful, malignant.”
3. Shelah which means = “rock, crag, crevice.” It also means = “silence, pause and to think.” Selah is used in the Psalms as a pause to stop and think.

Judah’s sin with Tamar, read above Genesis 38. Judah was neglectful in fulfilling the Torah by not having his remaining son Shelah go in to her and provide her with an heir. Since he was neglectful Tamar decided to trick him into providing an heir for her. Judah thought she was a harlot and there would be no consequences for his actions. As we can see in the Genesis story above that was not true.

When Judah heard that his daughter in law was pregnant he became indignant and sentenced her to death not realizing he was the father of her child.

God blessed Tamar for all the rejection and unfair treatment she received at the hand of her father in law Judah. It seems strange but it shows God’s mercy and grace on us even when we sin. Her motive was righteous according to the law. It appears she would never know a man again after Judah repented of his sin:

Then Judah acknowledged them, and said, She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah, my son. And he knew her again no more. Genesis 38.26

There is always a cost for sin. Judah and Tamar would have no more children and Tamar would never have a proper husband. But God was gracious as one of the twins that Tamar birthed, Pharez, would become part of the lineage of Yeshua:

Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; Phares begat Esrom; Esrom begat Aram…Matt 1.3

And it came to pass when she travailed, that the one put out his hand, and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first. And it came to pass as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out; and she said, Why hast thou brought this breach upon thee? Therefore his name was called Pharez. And afterward his brother that had the scarlet thread upon his hand came out, and his name was called Zarah. Gen 38.28-30

Pharez means = “a breach, a breaking forth, gap, a tear, to be set free.” This must have been a painful birth for Tamar as the two wrestled in her womb. It is amazing she survived. A breach baby can cause the death of the mother. Pharez speaks of suffering. Our Lord Yeshua suffered for us on the cross and set us free from sin.

Zarah means = “a rising of light, to be set free.” At the end of the age Judah (Jews) will accept the scarlet thread of salvation, the blood of Yeshua, their Messiah!

Judah’s character: it came to pass at that time that Judah went down from his brethren and turned in to a certain Adullamite, whose name was Hirah. Genesis 38.1

Judah got in trouble when he strays from his brothers and the way the Lord wants him to walk. It seems Judah’s weakness wine, women, and money. Judah took a Canaanite woman which he was not supposed to do and had three children with her. He was hanging out with the wrong people. How many times has that happened to us at one time or another. We need to keep on the path that the Lord has chosen for us.

When Judah walks with the Lord he is a leader. He has great people skills and can advocate with God for his people. He has a great gift for reasoning. He’s a great lawyer! Judah has great influence with his brothers and they will listen to his counsel. In the end Judah’s plea to Joseph made Joseph realize his brothers had a change of heart and he revealed himself to them. This paved the way for the tribes to go to Egypt and become a nation.

Judah is royalty and he is great only as he realizes his high calling in God. Both Benjamin and Levi united with Judah to form the southern kingdom. When Yeshua returns he will reign and Judah will be the governing tribe along with Yeshua in the capital of all the earth, Jerusalem.

THE TRIBE OF REUBEN

And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb; but Rachel was barren. And Leah conceived and gave birth to a son, and she called his name Reuben; for she said, “Surely the LORD has looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.” Genesis 29.31-32

Reuben was Leah and Jacob’s first born son. Reuben means, “See, a son! A new beginning.” It comes from two Hebrew words:

raah…“to see, consider, to look, to make to enjoy, to have experience, to perceive, to present, to provide.”

Ben…“a son (as a builder of the family name), anointed one.” When studying Reuben it would be good to read Genesis chapters 27, 28, 29.1-32

INSIGHTS INTO REUBEN’S PERSONALITY1. Reuben’s tender conscience: Genesis 42.21-22

2. Reuben’s passion/radical guarantee: Genesis 42.36-37

3. Reuben’s rash decision making: Numbers 32.1-5

4. Reuben’s reluctance to pick a fight: Numbers 32.6-7

PROPHECIESThese prophecies to Judah and to all the tribes in Genesis 48 and 49 are key to understanding the Bible and the end of the age. When we come to a full understanding of the tribes it opens up the big picture of what God is doing through the events of mankind from the beginning until the end. In order to understand the end we must go back to the beginning! These prophecies have individual, tribal, and end time meanings that very few in the body of Christ understand. This study will try to answer many of these meanings. When waiting upon the Lord it is worthy of your time to ask Him to help you understand these things.

JACOB’S PROPHECY TO REUBEN“Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, principal in dignity, and the principal in power. Unstable as water, thou shalt not be principal because thou didst go up to thy father’s bed; then thou became defiled, going up to my couch.”
Genesis 49.3-4

“Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, principal in dignity, and the principal in power. The patriarch Jacob is remembering the strength of his youth. When he looks at Rueben he sees himself. Jacob was able to roll the stone off the well when Rachel came to water her sheep. He had the strength to wrestle with the angel at Peniel. His strength had gone into Reuben’s conception.

Reuben would become a headstrong individual. Once he made up his mind that’s what he was going to do. When the Reubenites saw the land east of the Jordan river was good for cattle they went to Moses and said that was the land they wanted. They weren’t going to wait to cross over Jordan--they wanted this land now! This was not the original land of Canaan which God had promised. In their impatience they did not enter into the full promises of God (Numbers 32).

We need to be careful what we ask of God because he will often give it to us. Afterwards we may experience a leanness in our soul and spirit as we are unfulfilled.

Unstable as water…Water takes on the shape of the vessel into which it is poured. It will adapt itself to any situation. It will always take the easiest route to get to where it is going. This is a good characteristic when led by the Spirit of God, but not so good when led by our own self will.

When Joseph’s brothers wanted to kill him Reuben objected--just as the first born should have. Then he went somewhere and forgot about the issue. When he came back his brothers had already taken action. Reuben should have stayed focused on this issue and not allowed Joseph to have anything happen to him.

Reuben was ardent, impetuous, unbalanced, generous, and kindly. He was not cruel or malicious--he was a cattleman.

In the Bible we see that the tribe of Reuben has no great judges, heroes, prophets, warriors, or kings. They were peace loving ordinary people who hated to go forth to battle.

“…thou shalt not be principal because thou didst go up to thy father’s bed; then thou became defiled, going up to my couch.”
Reuben’s great sin was a shadow of his weakness:
And it came to pass when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah, his father’s concubine, and Israel heard of it. Genesis 35.22

Rachel and Leah gave their handmaidens as concubines to Jacob in their competition to give him sons. This was the accepted social custom of that time. Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaiden, in this circumstance was like a mother to the sons of Jacob. She would have been called “mother” by all the sons. When Reuben committed this sin it was a very serious thing--even incestuous.

Bilhah means “fear, dread (of God), timidity, tenderness, modesty.” She was probably a very timid woman. Rachel most likely was a tough mistress who always gave Bilhah instructions in a bossy way. When Rachel died Bilhah was left alone with only her sons to comfort her. She had only known servitude all her life.

Reuben was about thirty years old when this happened. He saw her alone and took advantage of her. It was a reckless act of passion and showed a total lack of respect towards his father. He had usurped his fathers exclusive rights and privileges. This act would cause him to lose the blessing of the first born (1 Chronicles 5.1). He was not the leader as he should have been.

MOSES PROPHECY TO REUBEN
“Let Reuben live and not die, and let not his men be few.” Deuteronomy 33.6
There is disagreement among Bible scholars as to the meaning of this scripture. The word “not” in this verse is added by the translators. Without that word the verse would read: “Let his men be few.” This sounds as though God wants to limit them in numbers.

The Hebrew word for “men” in this verse is a seldom used word, math, which means, “an adult of full stature, the tall ones, the grown ones, the mature ones.”

The Hebrew word for “few” means, “not only few, but numbered, a certain number.”

When we look at Revelation 7 we see that Reuben had twelve thousand sealed along with the other tribes. Since this verse is talking about the 144,000 who are sealed at the end of the age we can interpret this verse in Deuteronomy as: “Let his matured ones be numbered or marked.” This is a much better and more meaningful way to look at the prophecy.

Reuben is impulsive and quick to act but God is loving and merciful and is making room for the Reuben who has matured in his walk in the spirit. Reuben, though losing his first born status, is not cast off!

REUBEN IN TODAY’S WORLD
“Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, principal in dignity, and the principal in power. Unstable as water, thou shalt not be principal because thou didst go up to thy father’s bed; then thou became defiled, going up to my couch.” Genesis 49.3-4
It is apparent in this latter day prophecy that Reuben will have “pride and power” but will not be the principal or great power among the other tribes. He has lost his birthright to Joseph (1 Chronicles 5.1). The prophecy also points out Reuben’s passion, emotion, and questionable sexual restraint. In the modern world he will be known for loose attitudes towards sex.

France is a nation in modern Europe that has substantial “power and pride,” but less power than the English or Germans. They are volatile, emotional, and famous for their physical and sexual appetites. The French are the third strongest on the continent of Europe. They have historically been one of the more powerful nations in Europe and had a substantial colonial empire of their own in north Africa and other areas of the world.

The French have a tradition of military power as the French Foreign Legion has a strong tradition and Napoleon was one of the world’s greatest general’s. (He was also very sympathetic towards the Jewish people in his time.) France fulfills the prophecy of being a “principal in power.”

The word dignity in the prophecy certainly epitomizes the French. They are known to take pride in their culture and French is considered a “diplomatic” language used in diplomacy around the world today--especially in many African nations. Much dignity is displayed in French institutions like the Versailles Palace, the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, and the Cathedral of Notre Dame.

The French are famous for their emotional volatility and the term “French-leave” is a term meaning “a hasty and unauthorized departure.” The Encyclopedia Americana states: “…during the 70 years of the Third Republic (1874-1945)…more than 100 cabinets succeeded one another in France with an average tenure of less than eight months. The main cause of instability was the lack of disciplined parties…” We can see this instability in French politics in our day.

Finally, the word “French” is commonly associated with sensuality and romance: French perfume, French kisses, French films, French fashions. In America or Britain a politician can be brought down by a sex scandal but not the case in France where it is “no big deal.”

What country other than France fulfills the “latter day” prophecy to the tribe of Reuben?

MESSIAH IN THE TORAH - FROM A HEBRAIC ROOTS PERSPECTIVE

Our belief in Yeshua as Moshiach is based upon the writings of Jews. Modern Christianity has forgotten their Jewish roots and created a religion far from the original intention. Christianity is supposed to be much more Jewish than it is. In fact, in the B’rit Hadassah, we are considered a part of the Commonwealth of Israel, grafted in. (Ephesians 2.11-3.6) From a Hebraic Roots Christian perspective, then, Yeshua becomes our great prophet, greater than Moshe. Yeshua fulfills the Torah in his life and in his death.

The Israelites were told of one to come (Messiah) by Moshe himself:For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not appointed such for you. “The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, according to all you desired of the Lord your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die.’ “And the Lord said to me: ‘What they have spoken is good. I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. Deut 18.1

Moses is told that the coming prophet is the one they shall hear. We believe that is Yeshua.

ALSO IN THE TORAH:
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh (Peace-bringer) come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Gen 49.10

B’RIT HADASSAH - NEW TESTAMENT
Then in the B’rit Hadassah after Yeshua fed the multitude (John 6.11-13) the gospel reports:

Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, “This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.” John 6.14 They were referring to Deut 18.14-18 and Gen 49.10

YESHUA CONSIDERED A PROPHET:

"And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet." Matthew 14:5

"And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee." Matthew 21:11

"But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet." Matthew 21:46

"And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:" Luke 24:19

Even the Samaritan women who met Jesus at the well recognized that He was the prophet who was to come.

"The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet."  John 4.19

We have Jesus taking the words of the preeminent Old Covenant prophet, Moses, and raising the bar on each of the statements below. Jesus is here giving notice that he is that prophet that is greater than Moses. So every word of Christ is to us in the New Covenant, the word of our great prophet:

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time"
At least five times Jesus began his point by stating what has been said, and each time it is a clear reference to what Moses said in his role as prophet. He then went on to elaborate on each of the stated subjects beginning with the phrase:

"But I say unto you."
Included in his teachings, and raising the bar, were the themes:

---Thou shalt not kill (Moses) / Don't be angry with your brother (Jesus)

---Thou shalt not commit Adultery (Moses) / Look not on a women in lust (Jesus)

---Divorce must give a writing of divorcement (Moses) / No divorce except for adultery (Jesus)

---If you swear an oath-perform it (Moses) / Don't swear oaths, let your yea be yea and your nay be nay (Jesus)

---An eye for an eye; a tooth for a tooth (Moses) / Resist evil-turn the other cheek (Jesus)

We see Yeshua as Moshiach (Messiah). In Jewish tradition the Moshiach may or may not be divine. We believe he is divine and will be coming again as King of King and Lord of Lords to rule the earth in righteousness. The Jewish Gospels so instruct.

THE TRIBE OF BENJAMIN

And they journeyed from Bethel, and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath when Rachel travailed, and she had hard labor. And it came to pass when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also. And it came to pass as her soul was departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni, but his father called him Benjamin. Thus Rachel died and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem. And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave; that is the pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day. Genesis 35.16-20

Benjamin was Rachel’s second son with Jacob during which she died in labor. Rachel named her son Benoni but Jacob changed the name to Benjamin. We will look at the meaning of both names.

Benoni is taken from two root words, ben and oni. Ben means “a son” and oni means “to exert oneself in vain, to come to naught, sorrow, unjust and unrighteous, vanity and wickedness.” The name can mean “Son of my sorrow, son of my iniquity, son of my unrighteousness, son of my vanity, son of my false idols.”

In Genesis 31 we see that Rachel stole her father’s idols when Jacob left Laban to return home. Rachel’s father Laban chased Jacob down and demanded the return of the household gods. Jacob, not knowing Rachel has stolen the gods, said to Laban that anyone in his party found with the gods should die.

This word of Jacob comes to pass when Rachel dies in child birth. Rachel names her son Benoni realizing her past sins and expressing her repentance. Jacob renames Benoni as Benjamin.

Benjamin means “son of right hand, the right side, leg or eye of a person.” It also means the south side which is the more pleasant side where the sun warms. Some scholars also say the name Benjamin means “old age, maturity” and “son of happiness, happy year.”

Jacob may have changed the name for several reasons. It may have been a token of his love and dependence on Rachel. She had been his right hand, the wife he loved greatly. She was precious unto him as was his right hand.

He may have also looked upon Benjamin as the son he would lean on and find comfort in as he grew old. Benjamin was the only son Jacob had after God changed his name to Israel. The others were sons of the “supplanter” but Benjamin was the son of Israel--a Prince with God. He was “the son of a prince.”

Rachel made a total confession to God as the Lord forgave and took her away. Jacob must have felt this as he renamed Benoni to Benjamin. When Rachel died she was buried alone on the way to Ephrath which is on the way to Bethlehem (Genesis 35.19-20).

When Jacob died (Genesis 49:29-31) he was buried with Leah in the cave. This cave was where Abraham and Sarah and Isaac and Rebekah were also buried. It is interesting that Jacob choose to be buried with Leah. Perhaps he saw how God loved Leah and how faithful Leah was to him her whole life. At the end of his life Jacob gave Leah the honor of being buried with him.

Leah was the mother of Judah through who’s lineage the Messiah would be born. She was also the mother of Levi through whom the priesthood was established. Leah was not blessed with great outward beauty but God saw the beauty within her and blessed her mightily.

Symbol: Benjamin’s symbol is the wolf. The wolf belongs to the dog family and the grey or timber wolf is the most common of the species. Wolves usually hunt in small packs with speed and endurance. Their prey is usually deer, caribou, and moose. Members of the family are friendly with each other but do not usually accept others outside of their group. When the wolf makes the kill they violently tear and rend their victims.

When Benjamin was born he went through great travail in the womb of Rachel. Her womb was torn and rent through the terrible contractions as Benjamin was pushed out into the world. Rachel would have died due to the hemorrhaging of her torn uterus. Benjamin entered this life in a violent and traumatic way.

PROPHECIES
These prophecies to the tribes in Genesis 48 and 49 are key to understanding the Bible and the end of the age.

JACOB’S PROPHECY TO BENJAMIN“Benjamin, ravening wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and in the evening he shall divide the spoil.”

“Benjamin, ravening wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey” Most fathers would not call their son a wolf. Jacob is seeing the young immature wolf who only thinks of himself while devouring his prey. Try to take his prey away and he will turn on you and tear you to pieces. When Benjamin was born he had to tear at his mother’s womb to be born. He was only thinking of his survival. This seems to be a shadow of how great we must struggle to be birthed into the kingdom of God. We have to overcome our fleshly nature and yield to God.

“…and in the evening he shall divide the spoil.”
The other wolf in this prophecy is the older more mature wolf who will “in the evening he shall divide the spoil.”

Benjamin’s nature is changed as he matures in God. He will share the spoil with others. He will be willing to make sacrifices and share the good things God has given him. He has become a new creation in Christ.

THE PROPHECY OF MOSES TO BENJAMIN
And to Benjamin he said, The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him; and the LORD shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders. Deut 33.12

“The beloved of the LORD…” This is a special promise to Benjamin of protection from God. God has a special love for Benjamin, “the least of your brethren.” God doesn’t just see Benjamin the wolf but He sees the struggling creature who is fighting for his very life. It is a blessed thing to be called “beloved of the Lord.”

“…shall dwell in safety by him…”In times of danger Benjamin can claim this special place of Divine protection. They are God’s warriors who can go into the most difficult and dangerous situations (in the will of God) and overcome the enemy.

“…and the LORD shall cover him all the day long…”
This is the only covering that is important--the covering of the Lord 24 hours a day! Those who are missionaries or are out in the world fulfilling God’s calling on their lives can claim this special protection from the Lord. This is a promise we must rest in as the evil day approaches.

“…and he shall dwell between his shoulders.” Picture a great eagle flying with Benjamin between his wings, upon his shoulders. We need to rest on the Lord’s shoulders. The government is on the Lord’s shoulders. He desires we yield to His government in our lives. When the mother bird pushes the chick out of the nest to learn to fly she is always there to catch them if they falter. Benjamin was a fierce warrior tribe and those in great warfare will have special protection from the Lord. Benjamin does not run and hide but goes out to battle with great faith in God.

GOD’S RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENTS

You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live by them: I am the Lord. Lev 18.4-5

Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous judgments. Ps 119.164

I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments. Ps 119.7

We are to understand that all God’s judgments are righteous. Psalm 119 is all about the Torah and God’s righteous judgments.

My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path...Proverbs 2.1-9

God’s judgment and righteousness are always connected. That is what these verses in Proverbs are showing us. All of God’s judgments are righteous--sometimes we do not understand and are mistaken in thinking the judgment is not righteous. The big picture is expressed in Ps 9.8...He shall judge the world in righteousness, And He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness.

We should not become angry with God if we do not understand what He is doing.

And I heard the angel of the waters saying:

“You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, Because You have judged these things. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, And You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due.”

And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.” Rev 16.5-7

All judgment was not nailed to the cross--there is still some to come. All God’s judgments are righteous and have a purpose.

The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever. Ps 119.160

God’s judgments have deep meaning in the course of eternity.

Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reaches unto the clouds. Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, You preserve man and beast.

HOW DO RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENTS BENEFIT US?
They are designed to help us govern our ways. The judgment brings blessing or cursing. God wants us to do things His way--the righteous way--and to stop blaming others

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? Hebrews 12.5-7

We are warned and taught through the chastisements of the Lord. Often we want to blame the Adversary for our troubles, but often the Lord is chastening us for our attitude. We need to understand the difference! God chastens us as individuals and as a nation. When the nation turns away from God He will chasten the nation through nature.

God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength. He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work. Job 37.5-7

From the chamber of the south comes the whirlwind, And cold from the scattering winds of the north. By the breath of God ice is given, And the broad waters are frozen. Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds. And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance, That they may do whatever He commands them on the face of the whole earth. He causes it to come, Whether for correction, Or for His land, Or for mercy...Job 37.9-13

Katrina, Sandy, and Athena were God’s chastening to our nation and specific areas. His desire is that people will turn back to Him and repent. It is His way of getting our attention. Sometimes Christians will be hurt by these destructive storms. God may be telling them to relocate because this area is not where He wants them. See Lot as an example.

THREE TYPES OF JUDGMENT

1. Eternal Judgment
- John 3.14-16...And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Grace and salvation. Jesus saves us from eternal judgment. Acts 4.12...Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

God wants us to practice righteousness by right living, but this eternal righteousness and salvation is imputed by Jesus--it is not earned!

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. Rev 20.11-15 Only Jesus blood and salvation gets us written in the book of life. The wicked dead rejected God’s word. Eternal judgment is “heaven or hell.”

2. Wrath Judgment - Gen 6.5-9...Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

These wrath judgments are unto death. Noah obeyed God’s word or law and was saved. The others experienced God’s end-time wrath--death. The same happened with Lot in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. Gen 19.23-29

God delivers the righteous from wrath:

For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; 7 and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked 8 (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)— 9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries….2 Peter 2.4-10

For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ…1 Thess 5.9

Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.

Reaping the Grapes of WrathThen another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and he cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for her grapes are fully ripe.” So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. Rev 14.14-19

3. Temporal Judgment - This is a judgment that leads or should lead to repentance. 1 Cor 11.32...But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

God disciplines us in order that we should not be condemned! It is God’s loving parental way of moving us in the direction we should go. This is God’s way. Remember the children of Israel knew His acts, but Moses knew His ways! God wants us to know Him in a deeper way.

He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel. Ps 103.7

The Israelites were told of one to come (Moshiach?) by Moshe himself:
For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not appointed such for you.

Gen 49.10

B’RIT HADASSAH

---An eye for an eye; a tooth for a tooth (Moses) / Resist evil-turn the other cheek (Jesus).

We see Yeshua as Moshiach. In Jewish tradition the Moshiach may or may not be divine. We believe he is divine and will be coming again as King of King and Lord of Lords to rule the earth in righteousness. The Jewish Gospels so instruct.

PART FOUR: SPIRIT OF THE LAW

We cannot obey god in our flesh--we need to do it in the spirit. It is beyond just loving each other. It is more than just the presence of God. The presence of God does not always bring the knowledge of God.

Romans 8:2 The law of the spirit in Christ Jesus sets us free from the law of sin and death. When we walk free from the transgression of the law we are free. We accomplish this through the spirit--not by the power of the flesh. The flesh is at enmity from God. We are saved by grace and faith in the blood sacrifice of the Lord and in Deut 4:13 we see God’s covenant is the ten commandments. The new covenant writes the 10 commandments on our hearts to enable us to walk in them. Israel said no to this at Sinai when they told Moses to go talk with God. They refused to let God write it on their hearts at that time.

If we are running to and fro to get a word from a prophet we are missing out on our personal walk with the Lord. Those who abide in Christ walk as he walked--not those who get a word. 1 John 2:3-6 says if we know the Lord we walk in His commandments. If we don’t walk this way it says we are liars. If we abide by His commandments we will be walking as Christ walked. If we stumble and sin we have an advocate with the Father, we repent sincerely, and move forward. 1 John 2:2

1 John 3:2-3 We are being changed into His image--becoming like Jesus as we walk out His commandments. There is a generation that will not see death--when He appears! Just as Adam perished from his original state when he sinned we will be changed back to Adam’s original sinless state when Jesus appears. In this day the lion will sit down with the lamb. For now, God is showing us what to do in this time--wait on him--don’t just react. As we enter into this state of being we are becoming purified. This is the changing from glory to glory. Walking like Him is purifying.

In John 16:7-8 we see the Holy Spirit comes to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The judgment of man is for our benefit. Psalm 94:12-13 In the final judgment day, however, there will be rewards.1 Cor 3:11-15

We can be saved but lose our rewards.

Sin, then, is the transgression of the law. If we abide in Christ we are not practicing sin. We can repent and move on if we slip--but we should not be practicing sin. 1 John 1:4-8 If we are abiding in Him we are not walking in sin. He who practices sin is not abiding--that person does not really know the Lord. If we are walking in sin we are in bondage. Repenting is returning to Torah. Torah means instruction. God’s commandments instruct us how to live.

1 John 2:29 says he who practices righteousness is born of God. This is not just confession--but practicing righteousness. 1 John 3:7 We are to practice righteousness just as He is righteous. Many have a nice confession but do not practice righteousness. You shall know them by their fruits. Verse 8 says practicing sin is of the devil--that’s what it says!

Those who say, “don’t worry about how you walk--it’s OK we have Jesus we are not under the law“--are leading God’s people astray. That is taking a truth and perverting it--twisting it. Yes we have Jesus--but we are to walk as He walked.

In 2 Timothy 3:16 we see all scripture is inspired and useful for instruction in righteousness. When this was written there was no New Testament. Paul was talking about the law and the prophets. This is were we receive instruction on how we are to walk out our salvation. The New Testament is commentary on the Old Testament.

RIGHTEOUSNESS IS AN ACTIONAll the commandments are righteousness--this is God’s definition not mine. Psalm 119:172 All the commandments of God are righteousness--this is God’s definition. The covenant of God is the ten commandments--these are a picture of God’s righteousness. We are created in His image--He doesn’t lie--if we lie we are not walking like Him. The commandments (law) do not empower us to walk like Him--it is the spirit that empowers us. The children of Israel were not able to do it because they rejected the empowerment of the Holy Spirit at Sinai.

So we see that the commandments of God are righteousness. We are to walk in this and let it manifest itself in our lives. Get this and we can walk free in grace by faith--reflecting the commandments and righteousness in our lives.

God lives by the commandments--He doesn’t lie, cheat, steal, covet, bear false witness, etc. He doesn’t expect us to either!

Deut 6:4-9 says we are to love God first. When we love him we walk out His commandments. In Deut 6:24-25 we see that the commandments of God are for our good--not for our salvation. It is how we are supposed to live after we are saved. Surviving the difficult days ahead will be determined by our obeying God. It is not the doing of the commandments that makes us righteous, it is the doing of them that manifests the righteousness we have received in Him. Our works are not our righteousness--Jesus is. Our walking righteously is the manifestation of His life in us. His righteousness becomes ours.

In Deut 28 we see that when we walk in God’s commandments the blessing overtakes us. Disobedience brings the curse--unsettledness in our lives. Abraham believed God and it was accounted as righteousness to him. Abraham then practiced righteousness in his walk with God by obeying God’s commandments.

UNDERSTANDING PAUL’S EPISTLESOnce we understand righteousness then Paul’s epistles become understandable when he talks about the law. Romans 5:17-21 tells us righteousness is a gift from God. We are justified by what Jesus did to undo what Adam did when he sinned and fell from grace. The sufferings of Jesus are not just the cross--he had to crucify sin in His flesh. Jesus never gave in to his flesh. He was like us but without sin. This is the suffering we share with Him--our resistance to sin working in our flesh. Jesus was tempted like us but He said no--He walked out the commandments of God in His life.

Jesus was a man like us and showed us how to walk. The law exposes sin--it shows us we need Jesus and the grace He provides. Grace reigns through righteousness. Righteousness, we saw, is the commandments of God. Psalm 119:172

Jesus sets us free from the curse of the law--we still need to obey the commandments. If our heart is truly after God we are totally free. Romans 6:1-9 Jesus did not practice sin--He obeyed God’s commandments. He showed us how we are to walk. Romans 6:10-13 tells us the abundant life is a yielded life--yielded to righteousness--don’t allow the transgression of the law (sin) to reign in your body.

In Romans 6:14-23 Paul tells us we don’t walk in sin because the dominion of the law has been broken in Christ. We become servants of whatever we yield ourselves to. If you smoke cigarettes you are in bondage to them. We are under grace which saves us and then enables us to walk in righteousness. We may struggle, but we can be freed from the bondage. We are exhorted to be the servant of righteousness. This is how we begin to bear fruit in our lives. We become slaves to righteousness (God’s commands) and become free from sin. This is holiness (verse 19).

THE MYSTERY OF LAWLESSNESSLawlessness is increasing in this world. At some point lawlessness will become so bad that the lawless one, the antichrist, will be revealed. The world will be deceived by him because they don’t know the true God and do not know His commandments. 1 Peter 1:13-16 exhorts us to be holy as He is holy. Don’t be conformed by your former lusts. Those who refuse to walk righteously will be deceived in the end times. Peter is quoting the Old Testament--the Torah.

Peter is quoting Leviticus 19 the chapter on holiness. This is a chapter about how we are to practice righteousness. Peter is referring to the Torah. If you do not understand the Torah you can’t understand the New Testament. The New Testament is a commentary on the Old Testament. The writers of the New Testament explained Jesus by using the Old. This chapter in Leviticus is talking about the commandments. This is how we are to walk in holiness. This is God’s definition of holiness!

This is the spirit of Elijah speaking to us today. Is this difficult? Not if we love God. Not if we understand grace that picks us up when we slip. This instructs us how to live with each other. This is what Jesus preached! Love thy neighbor as thyself! Love God first. Then the rest is not a heavy yoke or burden.  (Leviticus 19:36 discusses our unjust financial system).

GRACE SETS US FREE FROM CONDEMNATIONGod is saying as you walk out the commandments you are manifesting righteousness and holiness to the world. This is exactly how Jesus walked and manifested God to the world. Grace in His salvation frees us from self righteousness because we realize it is grace that frees us from sin. We can repent and go directly to the Lord (or our brother if needed), confess and move on. That is freedom indeed! No condemnation in Christ.

It begins with confession--but then we need to do. Romans 8:1 If we are walking in obedience in Christ there is no condemnation. When we sin we know it--we feel terrible--if indeed we are trying to please God. Jesus came in the likeness of sinful flesh. Romans 8:3 He did not sin. When we step outside the commandments we can feel it. If we refuse to repent at this point the sin begins to enslave us. When we come to the Lord and confess and repent we are free of the curse. We move on. It’s that simple. That’s why there is no condemnation if we are sincere.

God wants the righteousness of the law fulfilled in us who walk after the spirit--denying the lust of the flesh. Romans 8:1-4 In Galatians 5:18-21 we see the deeds of the flesh.

What is truth? Psalm 119:142, 151, 160 Jesus is the truth. Jesus is the law fulfilled--our example. The spirit of God will never lead us to walk in disobedience to the law/truth of God. Our flesh will--but not the spirit. Therefore if you are not walking in obedience to God’s laws you are not walking in the spirit. You are then walking in some other spirit. We are to practice holiness.

Back to Gal 5:18-21 if we are led by the spirit we are not practicing disobedience to God’s law. The deeds of the flesh are evident. Here is the list. The fruits follow in Gal 5:22-26. The spirit is in alignment with God’s commandments. The spirit will lead us into loving obedience to God--not the works of the flesh. The flesh walks in sin. The mind set on the flesh doesn’t obey God. When we are following the spirit we are in the law. We cannot please God if we are walking in the flesh. Romans 8:5-14 As we walk in the spirit all that God has given us is manifested in our lives. We are being changed into His image. His image is the Torah. This is the message of the prophets. Let Torah be our guide.

PART 3: INDENTIFYING FALSE PROPHETS

Jesus said to beware of false prophets who will come in sheep’s clothing but inside are ravenous wolves. Matt 7:15

They will be among us and often rise from within us. Jesus said you will know them by their fruits. This is the key identifier. What is in their hearts is what they will do--that is why we must allow God to write His word upon our hearts.

Prophets must be tested in accordance with scripture. This can be a difficult task if we forget that their fruits--the fruits of their lives is the key identifier. Deut 18:20-22 gives us a basic indicator. If the word of the prophet doesn’t come true than it is possible that it came from his own heart--he spoke presumptuously. The word in Exodus 6:6-8 could be construed as a false prophecy because most of that generation did not go into the land. Did this make Moses a false prophet? That generation did not go in because of disbelief--which is disobedience--but the next generation did go in because they obeyed. All personal prophecy is conditional--we have to obey and move forward. There can be unfulfilled prophesy because individuals refuse to walk it out.

Jonah prophesied against Nineveh and it did not come to pass because the people heard and repented. Was Jonah a false prophet? No. God was merciful because the people repented. In this case Jonah was not a false prophet even though the word did not come to pass. We must judge the situation.

In 1 Kings 13 we see an interesting example of a true prophet giving a false prophecy. After giving his prophecy the young prophet started on his way to going home without going back the same way or stopping to eat as God had commanded him. The old prophet he meets tells him an angel told him to tell the young prophet to come home and eat with him. The old prophet was lying. This is a messy situation. First the old prophet gave a false prophecy and then gives a true one concerning the young prophet.

This old prophet was prophesying in his flesh for whatever reason. Maybe he was lonely and looking for some other man of God to fellowship with. We don’t know. This is why we should not base our lives on a prophetic word. Prophesy should confirm what is already on your heart--not give you direction--unless it confirms a direction the Lord has already put on your heart. Be careful--some people will try to get you to do what they want. Don’t allow them to impose their will on you.

Who paid the price for this lie? The young prophet paid the price because he was disobedient to the word he had gotten. If you know what you are doing in God you don’t need personal prophecy all the time. Running from meeting to meeting for a personal word will only cause more confusion in your life.

False prophets can prophesy true words. Numbers 23-24 Balaam was a false prophet but his prophecies came to pass. There is no set theology in this area as you can see. Let your preconceived ideas go in this area.

Back to Deut 18:22 the word presumptuously means to seethe--hence to boil over in violence in a passionate, wicked way. To act wickedly and fiercely. The false prophet is walking in rebellion to God’s word. If challenged directly they will often prophesy destruction on you because they cannot defend what they are doing with the written word of God. They will try to intimidate and manipulate for their own agenda. These prophecies will not come to pass. We don’t prophesy destruction and judgment on people. This is the Jezebel tactic--it comes out of seething. A false heart.

Beware of false prophets who speak true prophecies. Deut 13:1-4 This prophet will arise among us! His word or signs and wonders do come to pass but they will lead you into false doctrines that do not match up with the scriptures. They will mix in new age and pagan rites and customs. They will control and manipulate in a subtle way for their own means. God is testing you to see if you truly love Him and His way. Prove all things according to scripture.

Very few people understand this concept. These individuals can perform signs and wonders. You need to pay much attention to their message. If they are leading people to sin or condone sin in a subtle way or seem to be controlling or manipulating others beware!

Back to Numbers 23-24 we see the gifts and calling of God are without repentance--but if the gift does not establish God’s covenant it can lead us astray. Where are our hearts? Are they for God or self? Balaam saw the spirit of God moving and did not use divination in this case. He yielded to the leading but had his own reward or fee in the back of his mind. He was trying to figure how he could use this to get what he wanted out of Balak who had commissioned him. In Num 25:1-5 we see Balaam counseled against Israel and gave Balak a key to lead Israel into sexual sin (disobedience) to what God had commanded them. Balaam took his diviners fee for figuring out how to give him what he wanted (destruction of Israel). That spirit of Balaam can lead us into sin if we are not diligent and pure of heart. In Numbers 31 the Israelites did not kill the women that they had mixed with, and Moses was angry with them.

In Matt 7:15 we see Jesus warning of false prophets who are seething. You will know them by their fruits. Not everyone who says, “Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom. Depart from me you lawless ones who practice lawlessness”.

1 John 3:4-6 Teaching that says we do not have to live according to God’s laws is false. This is why the fruits of their lives is important. The true says we follow God’s law--the false says we are free from the law and can act however we desire. 2 Peter 2:1-3 establishes a pattern we see throughout the word of God. People are seduced by false prophecy and signs and wonders because they want the easy way out. They refuse to repent and turn back to what God wants of them and they become seduced. 2 Peter 2:18-22 shows how false prophets entice this type of believer. The true message of a prophet is the message of the covenant: purify the sons of Levi and give offerings of righteousness!

We do not have liberty to live above the word of God and sin recklessly.

Once you’ve escaped the pollution of your former life if you go back you end up in worse shape than when you began. This happens to drug addicts all the time. Prov 26:11 If you refuse to walk in Torah you will wallow in the mire! The anointing of God breaks the yoke--be free and abide in the word--this is what sets us free from sin. 1 John 3:4

In Revelations 2:12-14 we see the teaching of Balaam affecting the church. They were taught that they did not have to live by the commandments of God. They could do whatever they wanted. They were free from the law. They had no personal responsibility. You’re saved, you can live anyway you want. All you have to do is love your brother. This is what gnosticism is/was all about. Oh, your flesh is your flesh, just keep your spirit pure. You’re saved, its ok. This is not God’s way. We are to be the salt of the earth, the light of the world.

In Rev 2:18-23 we see the eating of meats offered to idols. This was the early believers mixing pagan feasts and rituals into those of the church. It is important we understand the feasts of the Lord. These are the feasts He wants us to celebrate and understand. The early church fell away from this and mixed pagan holidays in and threw out the Lord’s Feasts. For example, Easter is a pagan spring feast. It has nothing to do with Passover or the resurrection of Jesus. Easter is set from the first full moon, after the day of the week, after the first full moon of the spring equinox. On Easter we are teaching our children to hunt for eggs laid by a rabbit! At Passover we review the covenant God established with His people when He delivered them from Egypt. Is it the Easter ham or the Passover lamb we eat? When the pagan cultures defeated Israel they would slaughter a pig in the temple as a means of defiling it. Ironic we eat ham at Easter?

In Rev 2 and 3 we see what false prophets encourage and condone in the church. There is mixture in the church today that the Lord is not pleased with. Aligning with our Hebraic roots not only pleases the Lord but it shines light and understanding on the word. It opens the word to us in a fresh way and enables us to have a fuller understanding of God’s will and way for us. This mixture in the church is the mystery of lawlessness. Lawlessness will continue and eventually become so prevalent that the antichrist will be revealed and accepted as God. Men will reject the concept of sin and salvation and any type of lifestyle will be OK. Those who live purely according to the word will be demonized and persecuted for their “intolerance”.

The Feast of Trumpets and days of awe describe this time of lawlessness and judgment of God upon the world. If we have lawlessness on our hearts that is how we will act--it will be manifest in our lives. Elijah said, “choose you this day which way you will follow.” 1 Kings 18

ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURES FOR STUDY
Jeremiah 7:1-4, 8-10
for false grace message. The same thing is manifesting today. They said, “We have the temple, we have the temple.” Meaning we have the blood sacrifice, we can just offer that and keep on sinning.

2 Peter 2:12-15 Wages of unrighteousness--paid to prophesy. Micah 3:11 telling people what they want to hear for money. Ezekiel 13:1-10 prophesying out of their own inspiration and hoping it comes to pass. They’ve lost the vision of God. There is a famine of the true word of God. Amos 8:4-12 Everything is shaking. Churches are not speaking the true word and people won’t accept when it is preached! Jeremiah 23:11-36

PART 2 PROPHETS MESSENGERS OF THE COVENANT

2 CHRONICLES 36:15-21
God’s pattern of chastisement is to send his messengers, the prophets, to warn His people to come back to the covenant He has made with them. It is not to condemn, but rather, to get His people to return to Him and His commandments. We should not take offense, but turn back and repent and restore our relationship to God. When we refuse God leaves us to our own devices and our lives often spin out of control. When we are not sure what He wants of us we should ask and then wait for him to show us what He desires.

In Old Testament times God sent His prophets to warn the people and exhort them to return to God’s law and established covenant. This is seen throughout the Old Testament. This is God’s method of operation then, and today in the affairs of men. When we turn away from God we loose a curse upon ourselves. Deut 28 This is God’s established spiritual law. Sin releases the curse of death. It makes our lives difficult. God desires we turn back to Him and receive blessing, but we are stiff necked and stubborn, just as the children of Israel were. There is nothing new under the sun--God still operates this way today. Ecc 1:9-10

1 Peter 1:3-13 We are obtaining an inheritance reserved for us in heaven. We are in the process of working out (walking out) our salvation so that it will become manifest in our lives. The full salvation of God is yet to be revealed in the last time. What is it? It is the revelation of Jesus Christ being revealed in us. This is the full salvation which we are in the process of attaining. We are saved now--but there is full salvation yet to be revealed at the end of the age.

The prophets of old searched out and understood this salvation was in Messiah and they understood the glories to be revealed. There is more to our faith than just being saved and going to heaven--there is an ongoing change that is transforming us into His image. This is the mystery that angels desire to understand. This is the message of the prophets throughout history. God has a plan and it is being revealed through Messiah and His people. This is what the entire Bible reveals--God’s eternal plan.

The Holy Spirit was given so that we can walk in the full salvation of God. The prophet is to call the people (church) back to the full covenant of God. We are to come into the full revelation of Jesus Christ. Rev 1 The revelation of eternity (Jesus Christ) is the message of the prophets. Rev10:7 The mystery of God is fulfilled. This is the day we are advancing toward.

God is dealing with His people who are walking in rebellion to His word. He is beginning to speak to our sin. This is not the devil--it is God speaking to our rebellion and sin and seeking our repentance and refreshing. Rev 2 and 3 God is speaking to the church--His elect--to turn back to Him. God wants our hearts to turn fully back to Him. This is the same message the prophets of old were giving. To live in God’s Kingdom is to embrace His commandments.

THE NEW COVENANTIn Jeremiah 31 thru 33 God says He is going to make a new covenant with His people. He is going to write His law upon their hearts and minds. God wants us to obey and do things according to His way (Torah). This is to make new, repair, renew. This is the new covenant. We are saved by grace and faith in the blood and blessed by walking out His commandments.

When Israel came out of Egypt they were saved by grace and faith in the Passover blood of the lamb. Later, God gave them the commandments and instructed them through Moses to walk it out. The commandments are not for salvation--the blood is--the commandments are how we are supposed to live after we receive salvation. The new covenant is about restoring God’s people.

God is going to show us how to walk (live)--just as he showed the children of Israel in the wilderness. They had an opportunity to become a nation of priests but they rejected the voice of God and told Moses to go talk to God for them. They rejected the full priesthood. They refused to advance and grow. God wants us to walk in/fulfill His total word.

COVENANTA covenant is cutting a compact--cut a deal. This implies the shedding of blood for the remission of sin in the Old Testament. It is, in effect, a renewal with God or in our case Jesus. We are saved by the shed blood--blood atonement, blood sacrifice. Leviticus 17:11 The blood makes atonement--the shedding of innocent blood of bulls, lambs, and goats. This is how they were “saved“--not by obeying the commandments. The commandments showed them how to live--how to walk out their salvation in a righteous manner. In Leviticus 5:6 we see another example of this. A sin offering for a trespass against your brother (neighbor). They were to bring a blood atonement. Lev 6:6 A blood sacrifice had to be brought for atonement. God was showing them who Jesus the Messiah was going to be.

The prophets continually called and reminded the people to come back to this simple blood atonement but they would incorporate pagan rites and customs into God’s way of salvation and God abhorred this. In Luke 11:49-52 Jesus reminded the religious leaders of how they were misleading the people and incorporating their traditions into the simple blood atonement of the lamb. Able was a prophet. He was killed by his brother for doing the correct thing--he brought a blood offering. Cain was jealous that Able was favored for his obedience! God told Cain to reconsider and not follow his sinful way. He did not listen and killed his righteous brother rather than yield and please God.

When Noah (he was a prophet) came off the ark he gave burnt offerings to the Lord. He knew God’s law. He gave blood sacrifice. Genesis 8:20 Noah had clean animals to sacrifice because he had taken seven of each of them. Gen 7:2-3 God told Noah to do this so he would have the correct number of animals to make the blood atonement with.

Abraham was also a prophet. Gen 20:7 He also understood God’s sacrificial laws. He knew God would provide a lamb for Isaac’s replacement because he knew God did not require human sacrifice. Abraham knew and obeyed.

Prophets understand that blood sacrifice is atonement for sin and that a prophet was coming (Jesus) to fully atone for man’s sin. Eph 1:7

In Deut 4:13-14 we see that God wants us to practice His commandments and live. This is a biblical definition of a covenant. The 1st aspect: is the shedding of blood--grace through faith. The 2nd aspect: is walking it out in righteousness. This is the practical application of our faith. This is the way of life in God’s Kingdom. We don’t lie, cheat, steal, covet, murder, etc.

Most of the laws in the USA and other civilized countries are based on biblical law. If you break the law you don’t lose your citizenship (Salvation in our case) but you go to jail. You are in bondage. If you break one of God’s commandments you don’t lose your salvation--you have the blood atonement--you repent and move forward in the grace of that atonement. You break the law you go to jail (bondage). You break God’s commandments you are in bondage to sin and are robbed of blessings.

God expects us to obey his commandments and to walk righteously. Breaking God’s commandments is sin. A curse is released through sin. The curse of death. A curse of cursing and not blessing. Our salvation in Jesus gives us the grace to overcome sin in our lives--if we want to. We repent and turn back to God. Hosea 6:6-7 God delights in faithfulness to Him and to His word. When we transgress God’s laws we sin. When we obey we are changed into His image.

This concept is what the Old Testament is about and what the prophets continually spoke of. This is also a New Testament concept. In 1 John 3:4-6 and 1 John 2:3-5 we see that sin is the transgression of God’s law. Adam was the first to disobey. We reap what we sow. Sow to the flesh and receive the reward of the flesh--sow to the spirit and receive eternity. If we walk in sin our lives will be chaotic and confusing. If we walk in His way we receive blessing and prosper.

Transgression of the law (Torah) is lawlessness. Without Torah we are lawless. Yes, Jesus has saved us from the curse of the law--but we are still to walk accordingly. Think about what Jesus said in John 15:9-10. He kept the commandments. Think also about Jesus’ great commission to us in Matt 28:16-20.

The foundational job of the prophet is to teach and exhort the church to come back to God and walk in His law. We are to obey the commands--to walk it out. This is what I call walking in the spirit. As we obey we become like Him, changed from glory to glory. If you refuse to walk in God’s commandments than you do not love Him. 1 John 5:1-3

It is that simple! Love God first and then your neighbor and the yoke is easy, the burden is light.

TRUE PROPHETS MINISTER GOD’S FULL SALVATIONGod’s full salvation is to be manifest in us. We are saved by grace and faith Eph 2:8-9 This is not a church program it is us being changed. Philippians 2:12-16 We are working out our salvation with fear and trembling (seriousness) through our obedience to God’s commands. We are then conformed into His image. Romans 8:29 Jesus showed us what God looked like--how God operates and what He expects of us.

We are being called to walk like He walked. We want to walk it out according to His Spirit and grace. We are to become willing to give up the deeds (works) of the flesh in our lives. This is where we need to have our heart’s desire. With His grace we will become over comers and it will all be very worth it. 1 John 2:3-6 tells us that we will gladly keep His commandments if we know Him.

Prophecy is the testimony of Jesus. Rev 1 The testimony of Jesus is walking in God’s way. The love of God when it is perfected in us causes us to walk in His commandments. Don’t lose your first love. Rev 2:4 If we love the Lord we love to please Him.

The word and the spirit will renew our mind. The word is the early rain and the spirit is the latter rain. Hosea 6:1-3

God will come to us in this way. If we are living in sin we do not have the mind of Christ and blessing is withheld. You can be saved yet still be living in sin! The manifestation of Christ in us is understanding the commandments and walking it out. We need to apply the whole word of God in our lives

In 2 Peter 1:4 we are told we are partakers of the divine nature of God--that is walking in obedience to His law just as Jesus did. God wants to restore His glory in us! As we walk it out and become conformed to His image everything begins to fall into place in our lives.

In Nehemiah 1:8-9 we see God, through the prophet, exhorting His people to return to Him. This is the pattern throughout scripture--both old and new. Turn unto me and live! When we turn to God and walk in His commandments we are blessed. Neh 9:29-36, Isaiah 58:1-2 God constantly has His hands stretched out toward us in mercy. The message of repentance is for the church--for all of us. Isaiah 44:21 Once saved a person can receive God’s blessings because they have turned/repented and are desirous of walking righteously. Our walk is joyous because we now can move forward in His grace and forgiveness--the curse of the law is broken in our lives, but the blessing is still to be worked out. In Joel 2 we see constant renewal in life if we come to God humbly and turn to His ways. There should be constant revival in our daily walk. This is what repentance is--it is revival! In order to have revival we must turn/repent and walk God’s way!

Malachi 3:1-7 is not just talking about John the Baptist--he is talking about the end of the age--the 2nd coming of Messiah. The world is going to see His glory manifested in the church--in our lives--then He is going to appear. This is the spirit of Elijah--prepare ye the way of the Lord--the forerunner anointing. He is refining us like gold and silver. Our salvation is in spirit, soul, and body. God will be a witness against those who refuse to obey His laws. Malachi 4:5-6 The forerunner message is repent--turn back--to God. This is the day of the Lord. The spirit and power of Elijah preparing the way for the return of our King.

PART ONE: PROPHETS AND PROPHETIC MINISTRY

1 Corinthians 12:27-29
There is a five fold ascension ministry of apostle, prophet, teacher, miracles, and healings.

1 Corinthians 14:31 There is the gift of prophecy in the church. Not everyone who prophesies is a prophet.

A true prophet can prophesy and it does not come to pass. A false prophet can prophesy a thing that does come to pass. The gospel which they preach and believe is what ultimately separate the true from the false.

All prophetic ministry flows from a spirit of prophecy which is the testimony of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the beginning and the ending, the Alpha and Omega. Rev 1:8 He is who was, who is, and who is to come. The spirit of prophesy then is the testimony of eternity (Jesus). It is not just about the future or time as we understand it.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 God has set eternity in our hearts. We must understand the past (who was) in order to understand the future (who is to come). The verse should read…He hath set eternity in their heart without which no man can find out the work that God makes…. We need to understand God’s eternal plan of salvation to be able to understand prophesy.

Many run to an fro to get a word of prophecy for their lives. This is not good. Prophecy is living by the testimony of God’s eternal salvation in Messiah. It is getting to know the heart of God. Running to and fro for a word shows instability and lack of knowledge of the Lord.

There is a salvation which is yet to come-it has not been fully revealed. 1 Peter 1:5 The full manifestation of salvation has not yet come to the world. It is to be revealed in us at Messiah’s coming.

The spirit of prophecy is the anointing of the Holy Spirit which testifies of Messiah. In Numbers 11:25 the Spirit rested on Moses and came upon the 70 elders and they prophesied. The elders were not prophets but they prophesied when the Spirit came upon them. They were moving in the gift of prophecy, but were not prophets.

1 Samuel 10:5-12 Samuel had the first school of the prophets. He anointed Saul king and the spirit of prophecy came upon Saul and he prophesied. Prophets were present there when this came on him. Saul, however, was not a prophet.

THE GIFT OF PROPHECY
The gift of prophecy is different than just prophesying in church. 1 Cor 12 The gift of prophecy is to build up the body of Christ, the church, for the common good. We should be able to flow in what is needed when we gather together. So you don’t have to be a prophet in order to prophesy. A prophet need not be present for someone to give a word in an assembly.

Prophecy is the #1 gift to seek 1 Cor 14:1-3 because it builds up the body. A message in tongues with proper interpretation is basically the same as prophecy. We in the assembly do need to judge any word given as from the Lord. The edification, exhortation, and comfort is a sign of a good prophetic word. It should, in most cases, confirm things already in our hearts. Seldom will it be something totally new to you. Exhortation can be a mild form of reproof, counsel, admonishment, or polite warning.

A pastor can bring correction or reproof to you in areas of your life. When you prophesy correction to an individual you should be an apostle or prophet. Again, the use of the gift is purely edification, exhortation (mild reproof), or comfort. Comfort would be an encouraging word that stimulates you or answers a fear or doubt. Sometimes you can just go to the person and say you have a word for them. You don’t have to say “Thus says the Lord.”

DREAMS AND VISIONSGod will talk to prophets and anyone in dreams and visions. Num 12:6, Gen 41:1-7, Dan 2, Matt 12 are all examples of God talking to all kinds of people in dreams and visions. They were not all prophets. There were warnings to kings and pharaohs. Even Mary and Joseph were told in a dream to move. Many can prophesy and have dreams and visions. Acts 2, Joel 2:28

A revelation dealing with doctrine is only given by prophets and it must witness with scripture. We need to judge carefully when individuals share their dreams and visions. They should not dictate doctrine. This can often be a spirit of Jezebel that wishes to manipulate the church or be soulish in nature.

Cornelius had a vision to go and find Peter, but he was not a prophet. Ananias was told in a vision to go to Paul and pray over him. Ananias was not a prophet but was commissioned to do a job. Most dreams and visions are to edify or perform a certain task. We also need to be circumspect about “angelic” visitation that would have us change doctrine, go against scripture, or attempt to manipulate us.

FUNCTION OF THE PROPHETA true or false prophet is determined by the message they bring. The message is of the covenant, and the salvation which is yet to come. This is foundational to what a prophet does. Ephesians 4 talks about Jesus ascending into heaven. He went down to paradise which was then in the bowels of the earth and took the righteous captives with Him as he ascended into heaven. Our salvation is not complete…it is yet to be revealed! Eph 4:11 God gave gifts unto men. These are the ascension gifts: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. These are for the perfecting of the saints until we become the perfect man in His image. There are no denominations in heaven, we are to move in the pure word of God--onward and upward. Jesus is our head the chief apostle. When He ascended He gave us the fivefold ministries so we could function as He did during His ministry on earth. Heb 3:1, Acts 3:22-23, Matt 4:23, Matt 9:35, John 10:14.

When Jesus ascended he gave these functions to men so His full ministry should be in the earth until He returns. We are to be changed into His image from glory to glory! This is the fullness of Christ. Without apostles and prophets we have no foundation. Eph 2:10-22 We are built into a habitation for God! Apostles and prophets are the foundation and Jesus is the cornerstone. We must have a sure foundation to become what God desires.

FOUNDATIONAL MINISTRIESThe prophets and teachers were fasting and seeking the Lord and were told to separate Barnabas and Paul. Acts 13:1-3

The prophets recognized Barnabas and Paul and set them apart and released them unto the work the Lord had for them. From that day forward Barnabas and Paul were apostles. It took the prophets to confirm and release them to their commission. See Timothy’s impartation by Paul. 2 Tim 1:6-7

Prophets can impart spiritual gifts and anointing. With King David it took 17 years before it came to pass. Prophets judge prophetic revelations. 1 Cor 14:29 To bring a pure word you must be dead to self and selfish desires.

We also need to be careful of angelic visitations and people teaching doctrine that is not in line with the word of God. All these should have scriptural foundation. False prophets can use this as a way to control people and magnify themselves.

Colossians 2:18 We will not get visions that are opposite of what is written. We need to learn how to pull down imaginations. Imaginations of our own mind. We look for stability in our spiritual lives.

In the coming days there will be many false prophets and words. If we know and understand the word of God we are protected from erring. Let your dreams and visions be judged by the prophets and don’t follow after visions or angelic visits. Know what the word says!

1 Peter 1:3-12 This is in reference to the message of the prophets and apostles. We are to obtain an inheritance. We have not yet attained. There is an inheritance reserved for us in heaven--we are not there yet. The full manifestation will come at the end of the age. A salvation is yet to be revealed in the last time. Prophets and apostles move us in this direction. God desires to be made manifest in us. A full revelation of Jesus Christ is yet to come. This is the core message of the true prophet. A mystery is about to be revealed in the last times. The full revelation of God in us!

Next: PART 2 PROPHETS - MESSENGERS OF THE COVENANT
