KEYS TO UNDERSTANDING EZEKIEL’S TEMPLE

The Book of Haggai - Exhortation and Prophetic View - Focus on exhorting the people to action, God’s chastening of the people, God’s restoration of the people, promise of future glory, and the promise of the coming Messiah.

Haggai means = Festival of the Lord, My solemn feast. Note that Haggai’s prophecies take place in the seventh month and the ninth month. The seventh month is Tishri which celebrates the fall feasts of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles. The ninth month is Kislev and is the month in which Hanukka would later be celebrated.

Haggai is a very prophetic book that is a key to understanding the fall feasts of the Lord.

The Book of Ezra - Building the temple - Focus on the restoration of the temple, establishing a community in Jerusalem, and the implementation of the Mosaic law. This book is prophetic in relation to the temple being established in the Millennial Kingdom.

The Book of Nehemiah - Building the walls of Jerusalem - Focus on resettlement of the returnees, rebuilding the walls of protection, and insuring the economic stability of the people and of the Temple staff ( the priests and Levites). This book dovetails with Ezra and is a shadow of all things being restored and rebuilt in the MK.

David’s Tabernacle - Order of worship

Solomon’s Temple - Type of Millennial Temple
