OLD SCHOOL SAINTS

There is much we can learn from many of the “old school” saints which have come before us. This is one of many from whom we can learn.

The School of Preparation

by Seeley Kinne

Those who aspire to be a partaker with the Lord in His end-time purposes must enter the School of Christ and be recreated, developed, and trained. These must pass through a process of crucifixion, testing, chastening, and correction.
The first thing necessary is to discover this School of Preparation, then seek to gain entrance. One must know that this course of training is available before he can enter its classes. A knowledge of its requirements is helpful; accepting them is essential. Unless we submit to this time of processing, our participation in His end-time purposes cannot be obtained.

Except we, in some measure, come to understand God’s ways of working, we may find ourselves involved in that which is at cross-purposes with Him. He may be trying to crucify us through a certain individual, but all we see is someone trying to do us wrong. God may be applying the chastening rod, but we interpret it as someone wrongly abusing us.
If we can recognize God at work refining us, we will find ourselves in His School of Preparation, without our being aware that we have entered the process of our preparation.

Before we will be able to rightly relate to the classroom lessons of this school, we must come into a practical relationship with the Holy Spirit as our director and teacher. Each individual will be in a class by himself, and receive the lessons specifically fitted to the crucifixion of his will, heart, and carnal nature. These deal inwardly, backward in correction concerning incidents of the past, and forward in preparation toward the intended position and work to occupy us in “that day.”

Jesus, the Master Re-builder, is at hand, diligently working with fullers soap, refiners fire, winnowing fan, trying circumstances, and unreasonable people. He will bring to bear all these, and many other crucifying, chastening, and correcting people and trying things, which are exactly suited to our individual processing.
The only safe way is to face them all as being a test, in which we are to overcome. See no man. Rather, see it as being appointed of the Lord. The Lord will formulate conditions, and set in our path persons adapted to reach and correct our every crooked, or warped tendency. We must accept and understand the fact that it is the Lord at work.

An almost endless variety of incidents, and people, may gather about us. If we will remain steadfast and faithful, after we come through it all, we will have become a greatly changed person, and have become “…a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the Masters use, and prepared unto every good work.” 2 Timothy 2:21
There are many who talk about end-time truth, but few seem to find the door that leads into this School of Preparation. Jesus said of the Pharisees, “They say, and do not.”

“But be you doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”  James 1:22

“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready. It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.” Revelation 19:7-8 NAS
About Seeley Kinne

by Wade E Taylor

Seeley D. Kinne was born in 1858 in New York State. He grew up on his parent’s farm and was the eldest of seven children. Seeley lived with his wife and family for a time in Avoca, New York, boarding at the Gilbert’s residence on Church Street. They were members of the Pentecostal Assembly in Avoca, where he often spoke.

In November of 1932, Seeley pastured the Adullum Assembly in Rochester, New York when he wrote:

Some regard us as fanatical. We are the clearest of excessive and disorderly workings that I have seen, so as to be free from bondages of almost every kind. True, we have dancing, singing, praising, and various spiritual exercises. To an onlooker that might seem boisterous; but to participate is to find the touch of God.”
Recently a blue cloud of glory has been seen in the upper part of the hall, which seems similar to the appearance at the dedication of the Tabernacle (in the Wilderness) and the Temple (of Solomon).”
It is said that we do not have two meetings alike. There is always something new and fresh. Sometimes we have a meeting in which exhortation follows exhortation. On another occasion, prophetic utterances predominate. At other times, a meeting will be characterized by impressive testimonies, while on still another occasion, there is a mighty stream of prayer in the Spirit, which occupies the time wholly.”

Kinne remained in Rochester as pastor until he resigned in July 1933 at the direction of the Lord. Seeley D. Kinne went to the West coast in 1944, where he lived in the home of his daughter for the last 6 years of his life. He passed into the presence of our Lord in 1950 at 91 years of age.

Seeley Kinne was a prophetic seer, who “saw” and had understanding far beyond the time in which he lived. During his life, he wrote many books, and articles. Edited excerpts from his writings are being made available here, as they are a “present word” to those who desire to go beyond that which is presently available.
He had a unique way to express eternal truth, which will both bless and edify those who read herein.
