Part Six - The Final Five Chapters - Summary

God Himself now will speak to Job in the final five chapters...
“ Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? 38.4-7
God speaks to Job out of the whirlwind, similar to how He spoke to Elijah. God first establishes His greatness and sovereignty. We can only approach Him as friends when we understand this concept. He is the potter, we are the clay. If we love Him after we understand this, we have access to the throne.
We also see in verse 7 that the angels were present when God created the earth. The ‘morning stars' are the angels. Satan was present and was on the threshold of his rebellion at this time. He was the anointed cherub perfect in his ways! (Ezek 28.14-15) Here we are getting a glimpse of the incredible wickedness of Satan's rebellion. The creation turning against the creator! The spirit of this present age!

“Have you entered the treasury of snow, or have you seen the treasury of hail, which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?" 38.22-23

Hail and snow can create a lot of noise and chaos. In Revelation 8.7; 11.19; 16.21 we see great hail falling upon unrepentant men. Hail can fatally injure a man. In the final battle at the end of the age we are going to see God send hail upon the unrepentant. This will be a day of trumpets, great noise and chaos. Our faith will be tested. (God at times speaks through weather.) This will be the day the rebellion is crushed! Do you see this pattern in human history--in Satan's world!?

Chapter Thirty-Nine
God continues to establish His sovereignty and uses the example of a war horse as an example of His power...
“Have you given the horse strength? Have you clothed his neck with thunder? Can you frighten him like a locust? His majestic snorting strikes terror. He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength; he gallops into the clash of arms. He mocks at fear, and is not frightened; nor does he turn back from the sword. The quiver rattles against him, the glittering spear and javelin. He devours the distance with fierceness and rage; nor does he come to a halt because the trumpet has sounded. At the blast of the trumpet he says, ‘Aha! ’He smells the battle from afar, the thunder of captains and shouting. 39.19-25

The great and terrible day of the Lord will be like this. The war horse (Yehovah!) is ready for battle. Elohim's people will be delivered by His salvation. The armies of the Lord are coming (Rev 19.11-21) If we understand what is coming we can have peace in chaos (1 Corinthians 15.19).

Chapter Forty  “Shall the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? He who rebukes God, let him answer it.” 40.2

Argue at your own risk. As we see below, Job didn’t--he heard. It takes awhile to learn this lesson!

Then Job answered the LORD and said: “ Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer You? I lay my hand over my mouth. Once I have spoken, but I will not answer; yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.” 40.3-5

Job is realizing that God has taken him into a much deeper understanding of His ways. The children of Israel knew God’s acts, but Moses knew His ways (Ps 103.7). God would have us all be like Moses! Job has come into an understanding only a remnant know. He has been chastised and God's character has been worked into him.

Chapter Forty-One - God continues to establish His sovereignty...“Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook, or snare his tongue with a line which you lower?" 40.1

This chapter uses the Leviathan as an example of God’s power. God can even defeat Leviathan--the Accuser. We too can be overcomers in Yeshua. God is in control of human events and history. We have been given the Military Handbook of Spiritual Warfare!

Chapter Forty-Two - God vindicates Job for his faithfulness with a lesson about blessing...Then Job answered the LORD and said: “I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You." 42.1-2
You can almost hear the wonderment in Job’s voice. He has come into a deeper understanding, love, and respect for God. He has gone through an amazing transformation.

You asked ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge? ’Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. Listen, please, and let me speak; You said, ‘I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’ “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.” 42.3-6

Job is embarrassed at himself for questioning God. We all have to come to this place. We all should feel a sense of shame at how we responded to God in the past. Job’s eyes have been opened, and now he can hear clearly! All this had a purpose Job did not understand.

And so it was, after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, that the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has. Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you. For I will accept him, lest I deal with you according to your folly; because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.” 42.7-8

The Lord requires a burnt offering from Job’s friends, to be sacrificed in Job’s presence. Job is vindicated for his faith in the presence of his friends. This is a type of the Lord vindicating us in the presence of our adversary. It is also a type of our brothers and sisters who have been rebellious in ths life coming to repentance in the millennial age. In the end we all saved by grace but there are differnt rewards for service. Job is also instructed to pray for his friends--to bless and not curse. The Lord's instruction manual shows us how and when to interceed. There will be a large learning curve in the Millennial Kingdom. The least of our brethern is rebellious Benjamin who fought a civil war against his brothers (Judges 20 and 21, Matt 25.40) but was restored and forgiven by his brothers afterward. This is an interesting study, type, and shadow of millennial things.

And the LORD restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. 42.10

Job is restored with a double portion--just like Elijah gave to Elisha. We are doubly blessed when we yeild to the Lord’s wisdom. Job never lost faith in the Lord. He was stedfast. He prayed for his friends and the Lord blessed and forgave them.

SUMMARY
This is merely a basic breakdown and quide to Job as a Handbook for Spiritual Warfare. Much more can be gleaned from this book to guide us in our warfare. Each person can prayerfully study Job and find many other truths. The book describes the ways of Elohim and how we should respond. The book also opens understanding to other truths as seen in the Benjamin story.

I hope this brief study will help you study the book in a more meaningful way. Go through each chapter and verse to discern what God is saying about how He works, who He is, and what is saying to you personally.
