RABBI SAYS “THINGS ABOUT TO GET BIBLICAL” AS TENSIONS INCREASE IN MIDDLE EAST

Back in 2009 I began to seriously seek the Lord for some understanding of end time Biblical prophecy. He told me I first needed to understand Bible history, church history, and world history. Together these are His Story. All of history is moving toward the second coming of Yeshua. We have had 6,000 years to figure it out yet now we stand on the brink of nuclear destruction.

Islam, Judaism, and Christianity all have similar end time beliefs. In Islam the return of the 12th Madhi is awaited. He will establish Islam as the world religion and Yeshua will bow to the Madhi. Both Judaism and Christianity await the return of the Messiah of Israel to establish peace on earth.

And now Rabbi Pinchas Winston, a prolific end-times theorist who has penned 50 books, has predicted a conflict is on the brink. He eluded to prophecy predicted by a 13th century scholar which said Iran would spark an apocalyptic war. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/world-news/701985/iran-israel-war-us-syria-nuclear-deal-middle-east-ayatollah-rabbi-bible-apocalypse

“Things are about to get Biblical,” Rabbi Winston told Breaking Israel news. He said confrontation between Israel and Iran is not a “normal political crisis” but rather “this is a Biblically based, prophetic crisis”. Iran and Israel are long term enemies who have come into direct confrontation over the Ayatollah’s build-up in Syria. Tehran is believed to have tens of thousands of troops aiding dictator Bashar al-Assad.

They are thought to be developing permanent military bases in Syria, with the long-term goal of an attack on Israel. This week has seen a direct clash as Israel pounded Iranian positions in Syria with 70 missiles following an attack in Golan Heights.

Rabbi Winston cited a prophecy from the Yalkut Shimoni, a commentary of the Bible penned in the 1200s, which mentions a major war between Israel and Iran. It reads: “All the nations of the world will be provoking each other. The king of Persia will provoke the king of Arabia.” And it says the war will “threaten to destroy the entire world” as the nations “fall on their faces and will experience pains like birth pangs”.

There are many who believe the current events in the Middle East are a prelude to the Psalm 83 war:

Do not keep silence, O God; do not hold thy peace, and do not be still, O God.  For, behold, thine enemies make a tumult, and those that hate thee have lifted up their head.  They have taken prudent counsel in secret against thy people and consulted against thy hidden ones.

They have said, Come and let us cut them off from being a people that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.  Therefore they have consulted together with one consent; they are confederate against thee:       Ps 83.1-5

This is a clear reference of a conspiracy against the ancient Jewish people, Israel that we see today. The Psalm then identifies the conspirators:

The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; of Moab and the Hagarenes;  Gebal and Ammon and Amalek; Philistia  Assur also is joined with them: they are an arm unto the sons of Lot. Selah. Ps 83.6-8

These verses identify conspirators as Arabs living in Egypt, the Levant (Iraq, Syria, Jordan, West Bank, and Lebanon). The Ismaelites = general Arab population from Negev to Iraq. Hagrites = Eastern Jordan. Philista = Palestinians, PLO, PA, and Hamas. Assyria = Iraq and Syria. Gebal = Lebanon. Amalek = tribes that stretch from the Negev and across Jordan to Iraq. Tents of Edom, Moab, and Ammon = Jordan.

These groups of conspirators have been attempting to destroy Israel since the 1948 War of Independence. This confederacy is now stirring again. The Psalmist ends with a plea for the Lord of Hosts to destroy Israel’s enemies:

Do unto them as unto the Midianites, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison, who perished at Endor; they became as dung for the earth.  Make them and their captains like Oreb and like Zeeb; all their princes as Zebah and as Zalmunna:  Who have said, Let us inherit for ourselves the habitations of God.

O my God, make them like a whirlwind, as the stubble before the wind.  As the fire burns a wood and as the flame sets the mountains on fire  so persecute them with thy tempest and make them afraid with thy whirlwind.

Fill their faces with shame that they may seek thy name, O LORD. Let them be confounded and troubled for- ever; let them be put to shame and perish  That they may know that thou, whose name alone is LORD, art the most high over all the earth. Ps 83.9-18

Scripture says God will restore Israel to their promised land. This will be completely fulfilled during the Millennial Kingdom (Rev 20). Now we are to pray for the peace of Jerusalem until the Messiah returns.

Israel has been looking to the New World Order to establish alliances for their peace and security. This will never be successful as Yahweh desires they look to Him for peace, security, and salvation. The prophets of old warned Israel and Judah to look to their Elohim for salvation—not in alliances with foreign nations.

It is likely that Israel will be the victor in this Psalm 83 war. It appears the stage is being set for such a conflict. An Israel victory could set the stage for a peace agreement with her neighbors on terms Israel would feel comfortable with. That, in turn, would set the stage for the tribulation period and Israel being double crossed by the New World Anti-Christ Order. Could this be what the Apostle Paul meant?

For ye know well that the day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction shall come upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should take you as a thief. 1 Thess 5.2-4

We need to be watchmen on the wall during these prophetic days and pray for the Middle East and for the peace of Jerusalem. At the time appointed by the Father Yeshua will return to save all Israel and the world. The world will see Yahweh’s glory and come to Jerusalem to worship Him. It will be a glorious time.
