MIXTURE FALSE WORSHIP
AND FALSE PROPHETS
Since we are discussing prophecy and false prophets I'll repost this.
Astrologers = 1895 = habar = astrologer, one
who divides the sky for the purpose of telling the future.

of determining the future by examining the position of stars,
communicating with the dead communicating with the dead or
with spirits, examining animal organs or casting lots.

Enchantments = 5173 = (Num 24.1) = nahas = sorcery, magic, curse,
spell, enchantments. (2 Kings17.17;
21.6; 5172)

= to practice divination, interpret omens and signs, used enchantments. Deut 18.10
= 2267 = (Isaiah 47.9, 12) = heber = sharing, band, group, magic
spell, charmer.
= 6049 = (Jeremiah 27.9 = anan = to bring clouds,
to practice sorcery, practice divination, cast spells, observed times observed times, soothsayers. Isaiah 2.6; Micah 5.12

determine, diviner, astrologer, a diviner uses movement of stars or organs of
animals such such as the liver

Sorcerers = 3784 = kasap = (Jeremiah 27.9) = to engage in
witchcraft, be a sorcerer. Also 3786 = kassap = sorcerer.
Sorcery = 3096 Greek = mageuo
= to practice sorcery. 3097 Greek = magos = sorcerer Acts 8.9-24
Bewitched = 1839 Greek = existemi
= to amaze, astound: confuse. Amazed out of one’s senses, beside ourselves.
Iniquity = 93 Greek = adikos = wickedness,
evil, wrong doing; unrighteousness. Acts
8.9-24
Power = 1849 Greek = exousia
= authority, power, right to control or govern, dominion, sphere of
jurisdiction.
Dreamers = 2472 = halom = (Jeremiah 27.9) = dreamer; this can
refer to a supernatural revelation by God by words and images images.
Revelation 19.10 - And I fell at his feet to
worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant,
and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the
testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Deuteronomy
18:10-12 - There
shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass
through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an
enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with
familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that
do these things are an abomination unto the Lord:
and because of these abominations the Lord
thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
Deuteronomy
18:20-22 - But the prophet, which shall presume
to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that
shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And
if thou say in thine heart, how shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When
a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord,
if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet
hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
Proverbs
25:14 - Whoso
boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain.

14:14 - Then
the Lord said unto me, The
prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded
them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and
divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

23:32 - Behold,
I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the Lord, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their
lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them:
therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the Lord.

2.14 - Thy
prophets have seen vain and foolish things for you; and they have not exposed your
iniquity, to

you from captivity, but have seen for you false burdens and causes of
banishment.
Zechariah
10:2 - For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen
a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went
their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
Matthew 7:15
- Beware of false prophets, which come
to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
