WHAT IS BEING CALLED OUT OF BABYLON?

Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.  And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Eph 2.11-18

We are called back into the commonwealth of Israel to become one new man.

For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— 2 if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, 3 how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, 4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), 5 which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: 6 that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel….Eph 3.1-6

We are fellow heirs and of the same body. That is the same body of the commonwealth of Israel.

These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Matt 10.5-7

Jesus sent His disciples to go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Who are these people?

The Northern Kingdom of Israel went into captivity circa 721 BC. They never returned en masse to the land. They were dispersed into the nations and consequently lost their identity. They mingled with the gentile nations of the lands they were dispersed to. In time they also migrated from these countries to the north and the west into what is now Europe.

The Kingdom of Judah was taken captivity into Babylon in 586 BC. Many of them, but not all, returned to the land of Israel to rebuild the Temple. Those who did not return kept a semblance of the faith and have been returning to Israel in our time from Russia, Ethiopia, and many other lands.

The Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Southern Kingdom of Judah are two separate entities. They even warred against each other as we see in 2 Kings 16.5-6. Notice that Judah is referred to as the Jews. These people are today the nation of Israel--they are descended from the tribe of Judah (and Benjamin). They are the Jewish people of our day.

The people from the Northern Kingdom of Israel are the lost sheep of Israel. This group of people are made up of lost Hebrews and what Jews would call gentiles. This is in reality the church. The house of Israel lost their identity and make up the church and gentiles of today. These are the people Jesus was talking about in Matt 10.6. (See the Lost Tribes of Israel study beginning on this blog January 2014)

Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it: ‘For Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions.’ Then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions.’ Then join them one to another for yourself into one stick, and they will become one in your hand. “And when the children of your people speak to you, saying, ‘Will you not show us what you mean by these?’— say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Surely I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will join them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.” Ezek 37.15-19

What are the two sticks? They are the house of Judah (today’s Jews and the nation of Israel) and the ten lost northern tribes. They are brought back together to form the commonwealth of Israel. Many of us have Hebrew DNA and are those who have lost their identity--the lost ten tribes. We are beginning to discover who we are.

This is what the Hebraic Roots move of the Holy Spirit is all about. Christians returning to their Hebraic roots! The Lord is restoring His people. He is restoring His feasts (Lev 23.1). God wants to bring His family back together. This is the call to come out of Babylon--the Babylonian (pagan) Christian church which embraced pagan customs back in the day of the ancient Romans. These customs are part of the Babylonian (and soon to be apostate) church.

This is what the story of Joseph being cast off by his brothers and eventually reunited is prophetically saying. (See Gen 39 thru 48). God is bring His people back to their roots and restoring them. The rejected brother, Joseph, is the house of Israel who first lost his identity and became “Egyptian” but was reunited with his brothers. The brothers did not recognize Joseph because he looked like a pagan--just as Jesus looks pagan to Jews (Judah) because we have presented him to them in Egyptian clothes.

There are many scriptures to prove this, but this is only a primer to see if you are interested. Let me give you two interesting facts. The British people. What does British mean? It is Hebrew for Covenant Man. B’rit = covenant in Hebrew and Ish = man in Hebrew. Where in the world did that come from?

Finally, where does this statement in the Scottish Declaration of Independence with the signatures of Robert the Bruce and twenty-five of his nobles come from. The letter which is drafted:- April 6, 1320, reads in part:

"We know Most Holy Father and Lord, and from the chronicles and books of the ancients gather, that among other illustrious nations, ours, to wit, the nation of the Scots, has been distinguished by many honours; which passing from the greater Scythia through the Mediterranean Sea and Pillars of Hercules (Gibraltar) and sojourning in Spain (Iberia - Heberia - the Hebrew's land) among most savage tribes through a long course of time, could nowhere be subjugated by any people however barbarous; and coming thence one thousand two hundred years after the outgoing of the People of Israel (the Exodus), they by many victories and infinite toil, acquired for themselves the possessions in the West which they now hold........In their kingdom one hundred and thirteen kings of their own royal stock, no stranger intervening, have reigned...." (Deuteronomy 17:14-20).

Josephus, the historian, writing in A.D. 70, seems to have had knowledge of the migrations of most of the Israelites from Asia toward Europe. In his "Antiquities of the Jews" he writes: "...wherefore there are but two tribes in Asia and Europe subject to the Romans, while the ten tribes are beyond the Euphrates till now (A.D. 70) and are an immense multitude, and not to be estimated by numbers" (book 11, chap. 5).

There is much more to coming out of Babylon than we realize.
