ABIDE IN HIM

Jesus abided in the Father, they were one. Everything Jesus did was what the Father asked of Him. “You believe in God, believe also in me. Jesus is the Captain of our Salvation--He shows us how to abide in the father. At the end of the age Jesus will have put all enemies under His feet and will deliver the kingdom to the Father.

We are part of the God family. We are to become like Jesus--doing the will of Him who sent me. As we learn to yield to the Lord we become sons of God. At the resurrection of the dead we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye and will become spirit beings and Sons of God.

Planting of seeds is a type of the resurrection. The dead seed is put into the ground. In days or a week it sprouts up! The dead seed has risen from the ground and becomes a full plant ready for use.

We share in the power of His resurrection and in the fellowship of His sufferings. We groan, travail, and are despised by the world as we are changed into His image from glory to glory through our daily trails and tribulations. We learn to yield to the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and are changed by our obedience to His leading. This is the mystery of the gospel. We learn to walk in the spirit and abide in Him and we see the “salvation of God” in our lives and experiences. The wisdom of God is foolishness to men--and the world.

Love is the key. The ten commandments were written on stone because we have hearts of stone. The new covenant is writing the law on our hearts--our softened hearts, hearts of flesh. If His law is written on our hearts we love to do it. His burden is light and yoke is easy when we love his word and love to obey.

The first four commandments are about loving God. The other six are about loving your neighbor. If you love God and your neighbor then you will not break the commandments. Does God cheat, steal, lie, or covet? No. God Himself lives according to the commandments. Then they should be good enough for us to obey. They are our “code of conduct”. This is how we should walk. If we despise the commandments we do not love God in our hearts.

The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. All points towards Him.

2 Peter 1.19, Heb 12.26-29, Haggai 2.6-7; 2.21-22. Financial shaking and war.

The O.T. and the N.T. will always dove tail together.

Isaiah 30.18-21...Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him. For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; You shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry;
when He hears it, He will answer you. And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of
affliction, yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “ This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.

We will be walking through difficult times, but we will hear the word of the Lord. God wants to make us capable kings, priests, and teachers--this is the time of preparation for when we reign and rule with Him in the millenium.

We will be working with difficult people who have lots of problems. We will bear some of their burdens, taking it off them and putting it on ourselves. Our lives are preparation for greater things. People will need love and compassion before and after the Lord’s coming. Now is the time to learn how to abide in Him so that you will be an overcomer--instead of a burden to your brethren.
