PREDESTINATION MADE SIMPLE

Predestination was always a topic I had a difficult time understanding. If we are predestined for something, how then, do I really have free choice?

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Romans 8.29-30

If YHWH is “Eternal” or “without end” maybe that is how we should look at this. If we look at this through our own understanding it is through our finite mind or conceptualization. That won’t work.

After many years of wrestling with this idea of “Predestination” I believe I finally have the mind of YHWH on this topic—it isn’t really all that difficult.

YHWH does not control our actions nor does he make our decisions for us. We have free will. He does, however, know how we are going to act in the past, present, or future because he is the Eternal all-knowing Elohim. He would have to have this knowledge if he is “without end.”

The decision is up to us. All mankind is predestined. It is up to each individual to decide if he or she wishes to “board the train.” We have all been given a ticket with a predestination printed on that ticket. It is up to us to decide/choose whether we are going to get on the train!

“Blessed be Elohim, the Father of our Master Y’shua the Mashiyach who has blessed us with all blessings of the Spirit in heaven by the Mashiyach: According as He had previously chosen us in him, before the foundation of the world, that we might be set apart and without blame before Him; and, in love, as that before our beginnings for Himself; And adopted us for sons, in Y’shua the Mashiyach….Ephesians 1.3-5

His desire is we all get aboard and become set apart. He has given us free will to decide. He did not create robots. His desire is that we choose His way of predestination. If we do not choose His way…

There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14.12

Rebellion and evil were placed in the Garden of Eden in the form of fruit on a forbidden tree. Man and woman choose to reach for that fruit. It was their choice.

YHWH, the Eternal, knows who will find salvation through His Son, but it remains up to each individual in their own special moment in time to choose to turn away from sin unto YHWH. Predestination, from YHWH's point of infinite view, is knowing who will and who won’t.

I truly believe it is as simple as that. Why must we complicate it?
