Asleep - In the context of resurrection:

Then the mariners were afraid; and every man cried out to his god, and threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea, to lighten the load. But Jonah had gone down into the lowest parts of the ship, had lain down, and was fast asleep. So the captain came to him, and said to him, “What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish.” Jonah 1.5-6

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.

Ps 127.2

You carry them away like a flood; they are like a sleep. In the morning they are like grass which grows up: Ps 90.5

How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep? Prov 6.9

He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light. Job 33.28

To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living. Job 33.30

Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, everyone in his own house. But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcass trodden under feet. Isaiah 14.15-19

And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited (resurrected). Isaiah 24.22

And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. Ex 24.10

Read: Ezekiel 1; Isaiah 6

Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the height of the stars, how high they are! Job 22.12

Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? Canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth? Job 38.33

Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few. Eccl 5.2

Kingdom of Heaven - Millennial Kingdom MK is the goal:

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Dan 2.44

For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Acts 2.34

Resurrection preached--not going to heaven:

Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. Acts 4.2

Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, what will this babbler say? Others, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection. Acts 17.18

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, we will hear thee again of this matter. Acts 17.32

But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. Acts 23.6

Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? For they all had her. Jesus answered and said unto them, ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. Matt 22.28-29...did not ask how it will be in heaven.

But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine. Matt 22.31-33...Jesus was being asked by the Sadducees about the resurrection (they didn’t believe Torah spoke of resurrection) and Jesus answered in the context of the forefathers being alive because they will be resurrected--not living in heaven!

Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11.24-25...Jesus explaining eternal life is through resurrection and establishment of MK.

Paul teaches resurrection - no mention of going to heaven:

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: Romans 1.4

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Romans 6.5

But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 1 Corinthians 15.13

The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven. 1 Corinthians 15.47

For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 2 Cor 5.2

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Philippians 3.10-11

Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Heb 6.2

Our reward and inheritance is written and reserved in (the books of) heaven:

To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, Heb 12.23

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 1 Peter 1.4...heaven is where these things are recorded and kept.

For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Col 1.5

Misc scriptures: And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Matt 27.53...Came up out of graves…not from heaven.

Elijah: And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirl wind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. 2 Kings 2.1, 11...And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Jehoram received a letter from Elijah the prophet, which said: "This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: 'You have not followed the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa king of Judah. 2 Chronicles 21.12

The parallel story of Elijah and Jehoram in 2 Kings claims that Elijah died during the reign of Jehoshaphat before Jehoram succeeded to the throne. He was "translated" into heaven in a "chariot of fire" (2 Kings 2:11-13), but the point is that the biblical account of Elijah's departure from this life occurred in the reign of Jehoshaphat...So it is possible Elijah visited heaven (just as Paul the Apostle) returned and died later?

Samuel: He said to her, "What is his form?"... "An old man is coming up, and he is wrapped with a robe." And Saul knew that it was Samuel...Then Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" 1 Sam 28.14-15

Note: Samuel says, “Why have you disturbed me” as if in sleep, “by bringing me up” not coming down as if from heaven.
