Instructions for Life in the Psalms of Yahweh

We were reading through Psalms One through Fifteen a few Shabbat’s ago and began to see Yahweh speaking through David prophetically. I combined verses from nine of the first 15 Psalms in this short presentation.

Man is corrupt

Ps 14.1 - The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”They are corrupt, They have done

abominable works,There is none who does good. 2 The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men,To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. 3 They have all turned aside,They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.

David is recognizing his own sinfulness as he is repenting for his sins. This also represents the state of this current world. We can only be truly righteous in Yeshua.

God hates wickedness

Ps 5 - Give ear to my words, O Lord, Consider my meditation. 2 Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. 3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.

4 For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You. 5 The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity. 6 You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. 7 But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.

David recognizes the wickedness of humans and the corruption of human government. He is being drawn to a life of worship and allegiance to Yahweh. He is learning to be humble.

The Lord loves righteousness

Ps 11 - In the Lord I put my trust; How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain”? 2 For look! The wicked bend their bow,They make ready their arrow on the string, That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.

3 If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do? 5 The Lord tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates. 6 Upon the wicked He will rain coals; Fire and brimstone and a burning wind Shall be the portion of their cup. 7 For the Lord is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.

David is learning to trust in God. He had many enemies attacking him but through Elohim would prevailed over them. Yahweh came to David’s rescue. Elohim will test His righteous ones while judging the wicked. David is finding peace and security in his soul. He is being purified.

He Blesses the Godly

Ps 1 - Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.

3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

David is gaining confidence in his Elohim. He is understanding he is becoming beloved of Elohim. His confidence is building. His love for Elohim is growing strong. His fear of his enemies is dissipating.

God Shall Preserve the Godly

Ps 12 - Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.

2 They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; With flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

5b Now I will arise,” says the Lord; “I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.”

David understands the corruption and wickedness of the world. He is confident under the protection of Elohim. He will move forward without fear.

6 The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.

7 You shall keep them, O Lord,You shall preserve them from this generation forever. 8 The wicked prowl on every side, When vileness is exalted among the sons of men.

This mirrors the corruption of government as being exposed in our present time. Elohim is shaking the nations. He is looking to see who will stand with Him in righteousness. We are being tested and tried like gold.

God Protects the Godly from enemies

Ps 7 - O Lord my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me, 2 Lest they tear me like a lion, rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver. 6 Arise, O Lord, in Your anger; Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; Rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded!

7 So the congregation of the peoples shall surround You; For their sakes, therefore, return on high. 8 The Lord shall judge the peoples; Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity within me. 9 Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.

David knows he is protected and being tested at the same time. As we see today, the wicked are against all righteousness. They only tear down, they hate those who are attempting to reform the nation. David cries out for justice.

10 My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart. 11 God is a just judge,And God is angry with the wicked every day. 12 If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready.

14 Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. 15 He made a pit and dug it out, And has fallen into the ditch which he made.16 His trouble shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown. 17 I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

Elohim is going to judge the wicked. We will see truth exposing the deep state corruption in the coming months and year. Pray for justice during these trying times. During the first Cabinet meeting a few days ago the meeting began with a prayer. The interesting thing was that the prayer was not led by a Pastor/Minister, but by a member of the Cabinet! It was from their corporate heart. Please pray for the current Administration to move in Elohim’s will.

There is Safety in the Lord

Ps 4 - Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer. 3 But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly; The Lord will hear when I call to Him. 4 Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah

David is walking in the Spirit which relieves him from being distressed. Move in Elohim one day at a time. Elohim’s plan is being executed through men of His choosing. It’s OK to be angry about corruption and sin…don’t let the sun set on your anger or desire for vengeance. Allow Elohim to use those he has established. Spend time in prayer and take whatever comes your way in your daily life as your mission for the day. Pray for reform and justice.

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the Lord. 6 There are many who say, “Who will show us any good?” Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. 7 You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased. 8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

See how David has advanced in his personal relationship with his Elohim. He is now trusting and moving forward in confidence. When we obey we find safety and purpose. Take one day at a time. Elohim is exposing the corruption. This is judgment upon the Nation(s). He is testing our hearts. Will the Nation(s) repent or become rebellious? The coming years will tell us. Everything that can be shaken is now being shaken to the core. We want to be as David was.

Trust in God’s Salvation

Ps 13 - 5 …I have trusted in Your mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. 6 I will sing to the Lord,
Because He has dealt bountifully with me.

David is now singing! There is power in worship and song. He is understanding the meaning of mercy and how Elohim rewards those who walk in His statutes. He understands the purpose of righteous judgment. Elohim testing the hearts of men.

Abide in God’s Tabernacle

Ps 15 - Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? 2 He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart; 3 He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend; But he honors those who fear the Lord; 4b He who swears to his own hurt and does not change; 5 He who does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.

David is abiding! This is what we desire…to abide in Him. We are required to follow the Code of Conduct which is Torah. Yeshua is Torah—the Living Word. We obey the Code of Conduct and deal  honestly with those around us. We keep our word. Refuse bribes. Are satisfied with what we have and turn aside from covetousness.

The righteous need to shine in the present distress. Be encouraged and follow Master Yeshua through it all!
