Deuteronomy
32 is a key to understanding the Worldwide Immigration Issue
The United
States is not alone in facing the immigration issue—it is worldwide. The issue
is also fraught with incredible hypocrisy in the U.S. and Europe. Once again,
many protest without truly thinking the issue through—they are ignorant to the
true issues.
If we
reject God’s Royal Law it is most difficult to understand the root problems and
issues we as humankind are facing. The world rejects God’s Law and stubbornly
prefers ignorance to truth. The dictionary describes ignorant as “lacking
knowledge or training, unlearned, uniformed; unaware.” When I lived in Texas it
meant “you should know better.”
The
nations are ignorant of God’s Royal Law because they choose to be.
I’ve been
waiting on the Lord and seeking understanding of this issue of immigration for
many months. What is God’s mind on this issue? It takes time to wait on the
Father. He has a lot to say on this issue. I don’t pretend to have all the
answers—but Elohim has instruction for us.
Deuteronomy
32.1-9 is a good place to begin:
Listen,
you heavens, and I will speak; hear, you earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching
fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like
abundant rain on tender plants.
I will proclaim the
name of the Lord. Oh, praise the
greatness of our God! He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his
ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
They are corrupt and
not his children; to their shame they are a warped and crooked generation. Is
this the way you repay the Lord, you
foolish and unwise people? Is
he not your Father, your Creator, who made you and formed you?
Remember
the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your
elders, and they will explain to you. When the Most High gave
the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up
boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel. For
the Lord’s portion is his people, Jacob
his allotted inheritance.
In these verses Moses is giving the
tribes of Israel their final instructions before entering the Promised Land. He
is referring to the heavens as witness to what he is saying. Teaching falling
like rain refers to the Law/Torah coming down from heaven like the rain that
makes the earth to bloom.
Moses proclaims the Name of the
Lord, the Rock, who is just and righteous in all His ways. The nations,
especially God’s chosen, are corrupt and crooked—refusing to follow the Law. Is
this the way to treat your Father?
Then Moses explains how the Most
High divided the nations (Gen 11) and gave each and every nation a national
inheritance. The Word/Law instructs us to be good stewards of the earth. Yeshua
spoke several parables addressing stewardship of the earth and our responsibility.
Each nation has resources that are to be used for the benefit of their
citizens. If we work together as He wishes all problems could be solved.
God has established each nation
according to the number of the sons of Israel/Jacob. The Lord’s portion or
allotment is His people. The ones He has chosen (Deut 7.6-8). If we look at a
map of the world we see that Israel’s portion is smaller than the state of New
Jersey. The surrounding nations have massive areas of land but still want to
see the destruction of Israel!
Do you see how this all relates to
the immigration issue? Nations are not fulfilling the stewardship of the land
they have inherited from the Father. This is simple—if nations followed the
Father’s instructions there would be no need to flee and seek asylum in other
nations. The nations are corrupt and crooked in all ways.
Injustice is everywhere in this
corrupt world. We have Biblically established the root cause of this issue. It
is quite simple—but the solution is practically impossible because humanity
is unrighteous and refuses to obey simple commandments of give and share.
Our Father has divided the nations
and created borders for them. He has allotted an inheritance to every nation
and creed on the planet. He gave the people he choose to be an example to the
world a tiny portion in comparison to most nations. In spite of all this, economically
Israel is very prosperous. They lead the world in technology and many other
areas—but that is not the topic today.
What are some of the reasons that
people want to flee their home nations? There are too many to list, but one
reason is the injustice and economic situations in many poor nations. One
reason they are poor is because the rich nations colonized many of these
nations in the past and siphoned off much of their natural resources. Simply
put, it is the sinfulness of the nation’s themselves.
In the U.S. we have been
experiencing protests against President Trump and our immigration situation.
Note that there are no real solutions being offered. Most of these protestors
are ignorant of the deep issues—they just hate Trump. Then our politicians use the
issue to forward selfish ambitions.
The European Union has many immigration
dirty secrets. They love to bash President Trump on his approach while hiding
behind their hypocrisy on the issue. Check out these links:
As you can
read Europe has paid Turkey to build a wall and has been financing refugee
camps that are much more horrific than the things being done in the U.S., in
fact in March of 2018 national Public radio
described the conditions in one camp on a Greek island: “Trash lined every
corridor. The overwhelming stench of rotting garbage, urine and feces made them
want to vomit. The few toilets overflowed with human waste. Women shared tents
with unrelated men.” Camps built to hold 2,000 regularly hold 6,000. https://www.npr.org/sections/parallels/2018/03/09/589973165/europe-does-not-see-us-as-human-stranded-refugees-struggle-in-greece
These are incredibly difficult conditions and issues that
are not easily repaired. The root cause is the failure of humanity to obey God’s
Royal Law as written.
I honestly don’t see a solution on the horizon. What I do
see is that these events have tremendous prophetic meaning for our time. God is
judging the nations by allowing this to happen. He did not create this problem—we
did. These events will force changes in the EU and the United States that will
eventually lead to a financial crises.
It will also cause a backlash in Europe towards Islam as
many refugees are coming from the Arab nations that are in a state of war. In
other instances Islam is immigrating in order to change the “Christian” nation
into a Muslim nation. This will eventually lead to the Psalm 83 war in the
Middle East in the not too distant future.
God judges the
nations by allowing them to disobey His law. He is not a snidely
God reacting to every sin we or a nation commits. No, the Father allows us to
do it our way until we recognize our sinfulness and turn and repent. When the
nations refuse His ways crises will arise. God is revealing our sinfulness to us by
allowing us freedom of will. We create our problems not God—He has given us
instruction we refuse! It is so easy to blame the Father for the results of our disobediance!
Yeshua will return at the appointed time and establish
justice and righteousness in the earth. Until that time we are to “occupy until”
He comes. This means we should understand the Biblical reasons for what is
occurring in the world and why. We also should be supporting ministries and
people who are working in humanitarian service.
If possible we should donate to trusted, God inspired
organizations, serving in these areas and proclaiming the salvation of our God.
Some of us may even be able to go and serve. At the very least we should be
watching and praying.
The world has no real solutions because the world rages
against the Almighty. We have a life to live but we can still find ways to do
the small things the Father asks of us. Dominion theology is not the answer—Only
Yeshua can and will save us in that day. In the meantime we should be lights in
a dark world and bring glory to His Name.
